Doing well! Down 34lbs....that's in total about 15 since surgery. How are you?

Do you know of anyone who had surgery with Dr. Teal? I'm probably having the sleeve in February. Had an appoinment with Dr. Teal, seems like a nice guy but don't know of anyone who has gone to him.

Hey girl just checking in. Thanks for all your concerns last week....it was much appreciated! I feel awesome now....I can drink all my fluids and get my protein in. Sometimes its hard to eat so much (even tho its not much at all). I'm worried about eating properly when I go back to work next week. Oh well didn't mean to ramble just wanted to say thanks.
  5. Yay you! Great report I think the Isopure is the easiest way to get protein 40 grams that coupled with my carnation sugar free instant breakfast with fat free milk gives me 53 carbs that helps me tremendously in getting in the 65 grams and up I shoot for a day.....glad to hear everything is coming together for you keep me updated

thank you. I went and bought isopure and have been able to get an entire bottle down. which makes me happy! I feel so much better today, ive got my fluids and protein in, went to the mall and walked, took a walk around the block, and went to see a long lost cousing visiting an aunt. And best of all NO TEMP all day and NO PAIN MEDS!
  7. I'm glad to hear the slight fever is from the dehydration and not infection. I think there are a lot of people on this site who have not been able to drink the proper amount of water and protein in the beginning for many reasons..... if you think it is getting worse I would go to the ER for an IV you can't be too careful right? I've lost 28 pounds and two pant sizes very exciting for me I feel so much better. I have asthma so the extra weight truly affected my breathing in the heat, going up and down stairs, long walks, etc so I am very thankful to have had this surgery for many reasons....keeping you in my prayers

Yes I'm heading to GNC today to buy some....I just worry about healing properly without protein. I just emailed my NUT and informed her of my inability to drink the protein water. My fever was because I was slightly dehydrated. I spoke with my doctor last night and he said to just keep drinking as much as possible. Being a nurse I'm pretty astute to following doc's orders. Of course, I panick easy too! lol. I think this is just norm for me....my body don't like surgery at all....it's rebelling! So far I feel pretty good tho. Thanks for your concern. How much have you lost?

Hey Isabella. I'm doing great! first day was rough but now I feel pretty normal. Just sore. I had a hiatal hernia repair also.....little more painful. Overall doing great, getting my water down with no problem. Not hungry at all.

Awe thanks. I go in at 11am for surgery.....hopefully just overnight and home Tuesday. My doc says if I'm doing well I may get to come home late Monday....which is fine with me as I do not like hospitals....lol. I'll do whatever it takes to be well. Thanks I post as soon as I can.

For those who may need some comfort today....my wish for you

by Onery in Ohio on 08-29-2013 at 09:01 AM
Today I pray for those who feel overwhelmed. Know that God is your refuge and strength in the storms of life. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord will raise up a barrier! You are safe in His mighty hands!

Hi all, when did you start taking normal sized pills (vitamins, calcium citrate) versus crushing/chewing them? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm just saying........

by Onery in Ohio on 07-20-2013 at 10:40 PM
I love the passion on this blog from my fellow sleevers we're some dedicated people and that my friends is a beautiful thing. With that being said I'm sure most of us had this surgery to be healthier and to have longer, more productive and fulfilling lives. I understand being eternally on a "high protein low carb meal plan" however, to think anyone can live life and not enjoy a bite of cake, or donut, have something fried or eat anything without analyzing it first to me is unrealistic.
