I have mostly been having soup, and sometimes I pick at my husbands/kids food lol if it's soft. I also made some lentil curry that has some nice spice to it, I pureed it and eat two tbsp of it for dinner. I like spicy food I have had trouble with protein drinks too, same thing, they are too sweet or smell funny. It's weird how we are sensitive to that now. There is a very nice protein powder at Sangsters in the mall that I got yesterday, it's called Syntrax Nectar, they have a few different flavors, and you mix them with water. They make a juice-like drink instead of milky, with zero sugar and 23 grams of protein per scoop. I like it blended with Ice, it tastes like a slushy. I got the Strawberry Kiwi flavor which is pretty good, they also have a caribbean one, apple, lemonade, peach, latte... They don't have a strong whey smell which I like. I couldn't stomach some of the proteins after surgery just because that smell made me nauseous lol. Have you weighed yourself since surgery? Are you healing well?

My trip was pretty good, not too long only two flights but I feel like I need another week in Montreal haha, coming home to two kids who always need something. My eating is going... Weird? I feel like my stomach and my brain have no connection, my head tells me eat, eat, eat and my syomach of course is full. I don't feel like I am as restricted as I should be. But maybe because the soups are so fluid they go straight through. How much soup are you drinking at one time? Are you having purees or anything else? I am having a hard time stomaching the protein shakes, they seem too sweet lol.

4 Days! Can you say excited!

by Pinkyjay on 07-18-2013 at 11:51 AM
I am still in shock sometimes when I thik it is only four days away ... I am super excited and as each day passes more and more ready for it to just happen. I thank god I didn't have a pre-op diet, I am trying to just do shakes during the day and then a supper normally something that will be off limits post-op, with each last supper I am ready to not be able to eat it. I never thought I would be able to think this way, secretly extremely proud of myself. I kicked my diet pepsi habit and the caffeine

Some questions...

by Pinkyjay on 07-07-2013 at 02:29 PM
Good afternoon all!

I was just wondering when I need to give up Diet Pepsi? I just love it and I want to savory every last drop before its not in the good books anymore. There is just something so conforting about it, I don't care if it cold or warm its like a breath of fresh air.

I was also wondering if I really need to have my gel nails removed? Would a clear coat be ok? I have a clear coat of gel on my toes as well... will that be a problem?

Finally its going to happen!

by Pinkyjay on 07-05-2013 at 03:30 PM
I feel like I have spent my whole life waiting for this moment and finally it is here. There has been some bumps in the road I was going to go to Mexico but at the worry of my family I backed out and thought I will try to go through Alberta Health; but as each day passed and no call I got more discouraged and let myself get back into eating bad. BUt always googling looking for options here in Canada that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg as well as my first born child. Finally I found Dr. Gagner at
