  1. Hi Barb S, It's going fine now. I've still been cooking here and there for the family with no real problems of eating anything. I've got it. This is my final weekend. Tea in the morning, 1st shake, today about noon after I walked 30-35 min on my treadmill. Broth a little later when I'm really hungry, then 2 shake about 4ish. Water, broth if needed, then final shake about 7-8ish. That will be the plan for today and tomorrow. Then surgery on Monday. Got to be there at 11am, so it'll probably start about 1pm I'm thinking. I'm not nervous or excited. Today feels like a regular day, I guess I'll feel something the day of. I just hope everything goes well, and that I dont have too much neausea afterwards. I'm sure I'll deal with some, and gas pains, but hopefully I will be able to do alright. I just can't wait for it to be all over. Thanks for asking.

  3. Hello Eileen, I had a wonderful experience. I woke up pretty nauseated but that is the norm for me when I have had anesthia. The nurses were right there with something to take care of it for me. I slept it off then was able to get up and walk. The second week was a bit rough. I cheated a bit... I put a banana in my shake if I was feeling pretty hungry. I drank the heck out of Crystal Light and if it got too bad I would have a spoonful of peanut butter. I managed to loose 10 pounds pre surgery. The roughest time of it all was the week after surgery. I was not hungry in my stomach, but my body felt hungry... if that makes sense. I am now on the soft food stage getting ready to take on veggies. Good luck with your surgery!
  4. Hi there Barb S. I see you have already had your sleeve with Dr. Korman. Thats great! How did it go for you? I also want to ask, They gave me a two week pre op diet to follow, But I noticed the second week is just protein shake for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Were you not able to have any broths or sf jello or anything? Was it really just shakes? I'm just wondering about that, cause I see others on here that can have those things before their surgery with someone else. Well welcome here and congrats to you for being on the sleeved side already.

41 days post-op and hungry...

by Barb S on 04-21-2013 at 05:24 PM
I am 41 days post-op. I have lost 20 pounds since surgery but have not lost any in a week. However today I feel like my body and stomach are not satisfied. About every 1-1/2 hours I am looking to eat something... shake, grits, string cheese, butter beans, water, water and more water. Anyone else have this problem?

Senior moment...

by Barb S on 04-21-2013 at 12:02 PM
Just realized today that I had not been adding enough protein powder to my shakes for uh... weeks. Maybe that is why I feel hungry so quickly after having one. However I have been able to take in quite a bit of protein with yougurt, chicken, turkey and fish.
