Thanks for the welcome!. Sorry to hear about your thyroid levels being messed up. Hopefully they can get those straightened out and you can get the surgery done. I am so glad I decided to do it.
  3. So had a bad break with my surgery. I found out at my pre-op appointment that my thyroid levels are all messed up. I have to wait until the end of the month of May to have blood work again and to see where my levels are at that time. I am hoping to have the surgery in June but maybe more like July. FML.....I have not been on here for a while because of this news, finals and just kinda being a bum trying to cope with another month and no surgery.

Thyroid Cancer? I've battled with my thyroid for about 13 years now and am on the journey of getting the sleeve myself. I have not been diagnosed with Cancer, but have never had "normal" tests, it's either too high or too low, go figure. I've never been able to lose any weight (seriously, nothing over 2 pounds)regardless of methods I've tried. I'm excited for your enthusiasm for the surgery, and like you, I"m in West Texas as well. I"m going to DFW for mine. I'll be interested to watch your journey as it sounds like our situations are fairly similar. I"m scared to death that the surgery won't work for me because of all the failed attempts that have "worked for everyone else" because of my thyroid issues. AAAGGGG!!!!!!
  6. Booked my psych eval for April 11, I am so excited. Looking forward to getting my surgery date!Q!

I found this website in my research for things I need to get before my surgery. I was wondering if anyone has purchased from the site or not?

Family Member to Share my Journey with

by RachieV on 03-29-2013 at 01:19 PM
I just found out that my Aunt had the surgery about 5 years ago and has had great success. It is so nice to have someone else to talk to about my fears and anxiety of this process and also my excitement and achievements. She had some fine words to share with me and tips on how to take the first few days, weeks and months. Do any of you have a family member that has gone through this and were you able to share your story with them?

Diet before surgery

by RachieV on 03-28-2013 at 12:32 PM
Hi Yall,

I see on here a lot about special shakes that your doctors have been putting you on and wanted to know if they were prescribed to you or if they just suggested a brand. I have been doing research on the protein shakes and am just wondering which ones that you have had that are good. Out side of the price, where are you purchasing the protein shakes at. Thanks!
