  1. Hello all, I've missed blogging with all of you! I've been back to work and back to working all the many hours as I was in the past. I realized by menot having my support system and staying connected with you guys, I've been experiencing some setbacks as well as reaching some plateaus. Although I have not been overindulging or cheating, I am not eating as I should. I am not loosing much rate either. Currently, I have only lost 13lbs since my surgery date on March 20th. Any advice?

Oh I am so happy to hear your doing well and the tea was a hit!!! Can't wait to see the pictures of your journey. TTYL
  6. I anticipate taking some pics soon and sharing. I want to start closely monitoring my progress by pics and journaling.
  7. Day 4 much much much better. I took advice from one of our fellow sleevers and went to purchase and drank warm Celestial Honey Vanilla Tea (caffiene free); although she advised to use only one artificial sweetner, I use multiple in a larger container so that I can make more to have for later and rewarm in microwave to prevent making more each time. Other than that, It helped me with the discomfort in the incision sites that I still feel throughout the day from getting up/down.
  8. Day 3 post op and trying to adjust, One day at a time. I am thankful for all of you who has contributed your personal thoughts, expertise and knowledge on this site for all of us newbies. It has been and very very helpful.

Congratulations!! Good Luck on your NEW Journey, wishing you a Speedy Recovery........I,too am from Memphis. I went to the seminar at St Francis with hope of Dr. Weaver doing my surgery but my Insurance didn't cover WLS, & it was going to cost me thousands of dollars private pay, so being me......PERSISTANT...I had to look further, but you have a wonderful Dr. and I know you will have a great outcome, be Blessed.......

Hi! Tomorrow I start my stage three post op and I don't think I have a puree food stage really. My stage two is strictly the standard liquid diet (broth, jello, Popsicles), cottage cheese, yogurt (low carb), cream soup strained (98% fat free), apple sauce no sugar added and protein shakes. I have been on this for 3 weeks. Tomorrow I get to added 1 to 1/12 ounce of lean meat of chicken, turkey, fish, seafood salad, per meal and 1/2 ounce a day of canned veggies or canned fruit. Oh a one saltine cracker 3 times a week. I take Calcium, Flinestone vitamins, vitamin D, B complex and Biotin. All doctor's orders. I exercise everyday. Walking only, and just started swimming on Friday! Biggest thing is a positive attitude. I am determined to be a success story. I am have grown tired of looking at all the issues that comes from being over weight. Good luck to you on your journey. I will be thinking of you on Wednesday! Let me know how your doing as soon as you get home and rested enough.

1 Week Post Op Today, 6lbs down and many many more to rid. I feel much better!

by NewMe_KCB on 03-28-2013 at 03:08 PM
Hello All,

I am feeling absolutely amazing today. I feel lighter (thanks to the warm tea for BM), I feel happy and delighted about the first weight loss results since last week Wednesday. 6lbs lost, with this being my only time stepping on scale since being home. Other than my normal menstrual discomfort, i am free of post surgery pain.

Good luck to all of you!

How long post surgery before you had a BM? Any complications or medicines needed?

by NewMe_KCB on 03-25-2013 at 02:32 PM
Every day gets better and better! However, I just concentrated on the fact that I had not had BM. (please pardon me, but we are all adults). I have been eating/drinking shakes/foods that normally made me have BM, any feedback?

Back up plan suggestions

by NewMe_KCB on 03-24-2013 at 07:02 PM
I am scheduled to go back to work on April 1st. I have an office settting job; however, what suggestions do you have for lunch during the day without using blenders, shakers and other extra kitchenaid equipment?

I dont want to draw to much attention, and I want to be able to keep lunch at a minimum. My main concern will be concentrating on obtaining all of my protein prior to then.
Any suggestions, HELP!!!

Who has had difficulty with swallowing after surgery?

by NewMe_KCB on 03-24-2013 at 05:06 PM
I am 4 days post op and still feel pain when eating/drinking? I dont feel as though this is sign of dumping syndrome because it happens whenever I swallow anything such as: protein shakes, water, applesauce, etc...

How long does it last?
