Surgery is in 3 days. I'm excited. I'm ready. Took thursday (surgery day) and friday off of this week. Taking monday through friday off of next week. Curious on how long drain will stay in. I've been told I will go home with one.
Venting because I told my boss (who happens to be my sister) I'm taking friday off for this surgery and next week. She asked me about thursday. I said "well, of course, my mistake for not including that day". She freaked out about me taking

I started my liquid diet on May 2nd....My second child's bday. He is 23 years old. I was so nervous of the fact that I wouldn't be chewing anything for the next 14 days. I went to Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda to turn in my paperwork. I had to have seen a dietician 3 times, attend a support group for 2 times, a psychologist, an exercise therapist, perform a sleep study, an endoscopy, keep a food log and have lost at least 10 lbs. I have done all that! What I didn't know was I was meeting a different surgeon who will be performing my surgery. I really liked the first and only surgeon from the beginning of my journey. The only reason I began this was

I am so excited about finally getting a surgery date. Tomorrow I meet with the surgeon and he has to go through my "booklet" of appointments kept and signatures from those who have approved me for surgery.
I am nervous of course as all of you have been. But the excitement is much greater than my fears and worries. I have a supportive family and I know I will be okay.
I will post my date as soon as I get it!

My journey began in December 2012 when I had seen a specialist on why I was throwing up a lot and not able to keep some food down. I had an endoscopy that revealed a hiatal hernia. I talked to the surgeon who recommended I have it repaired at the same time I get bariatric surgery. I know I am overweight, just never considered myself a candidate for this type of surgery. I attended the first meeting to see what was required from me. I needed to attend three support groups, attend four dietician
