Hey Jules. Just responded to your query on psych evaluation in response to my blog and thought I'd drop by to say Hi while I'm at it. How are you travelling at the moment?

3 months post op

by JulesH on 06-29-2013 at 10:01 PM
Now at the 3 month mark and things have started to slow down, in total my weight loss sounds impressive 30kg (66 pounds) but I'll confess I started at 172kg. In the last month or so it has slowed to around 1kg per week. The measurements show a weight loss and my tops do not fit so well, but the main bulges do not seem to have changed a lot.
Foodwise, I have had no nausea or other issues mentioned on this forum, I just dont enjoy food like I used to and cannot eat as much. Meat, chicken,

Two months post-op..

by JulesH on 06-08-2013 at 01:58 AM
I had my surgery on 2 April and am feeling good, no issues. The only issue I ever had was side pain for around 3 weeks, I didnt have any nausea or the other issues people have listed.

So far I have lost 27kilos (60pounds) since 8 March. It sounds like a lot but I cant notice a huge difference yet. I estimate I have 80kilos (175 pounds) to lose, so I am 1/3 of the way there.

I had my first proper visit to a gym today, the most amazing thing was how easy it was to put

Back to normal..

by JulesH on 04-28-2013 at 02:04 AM
It has now been 26 days since my sleeve and I am feeling normal again.. I think the pain has all gone, just a few twinges in my side, I can drive the normal commute to work and feeling like I can do most normal things.
Im not sure if Im allowed to swim and exercise properly yet, I'll wait until I see the doctor next week.
Foodwise, its a different story, now Im on pureed foods, soups, mash, yoghurt etc but its not the same. I went shopping yesterday and tried to find something in

Sleeve op journey

by JulesH on 04-07-2013 at 08:27 PM
I had my op on 2 April, (5 days ago) my first operation ever.. The surgeon found that I had to have my gallbladder removed as well, apparently it was in pretty bad shape, full of stones and other things. I was not aware of any gallbladder problems. Thanks to that added complication everything took longer than expected.
When I woke up I freaked out because my breathing was limited, it took a day for me to get full breathes going again. There were times when I wondered if I had given this

One more day to go

by JulesH on 03-31-2013 at 08:33 PM
Day before my op and a bit nervous, Ive spent the last three days of Easter ignoring the chocolate and other goodies available and sticking to my Optifast and veges. From lunchtime today Im going liquid only so I have 24 hours pre surgery with only liquids in my stomach.

I am so grateful for this forum it has alerted me to the consequences and rewards of this journey, I know it will not be easy but I have spent the last 40 years locked in a bigger than average body. I would like to
