I cannot wait for the day when I can get on my horses without having to use a mounting block to get my fat butt in the saddle.....I can't wait for the day that I get on my smaller, 14 hand mare, without her bracing her legs and giving a grunt when I mount. It may be my imagination but I swear when she sees me come out with her saddle, the look on her face says, "Dear God, please not me!" Perhaps silly reasons for wanting the surgery, but for me, quit compelling ones....ones that other horse lovers can understand. Congratulations on your surgery and best wishes!! Beautiful horse, btw!

I started with Arabians and had a 3 gaited ASB to help me with equitation as a juvenile rider. My parents raised a few National Show Horses which is Arabian ASB cross. My trainer started to only train ASB, so my last horse was a Calloway bred 5 gaited pleasure. I loved 5 gaited! I only showed one time after I had my son in 2005. I would love to get back into it again! The best part about being thin is being able to ride better. It's so much easier to sit in the saddle if you know what I mean. There is no way I could ride now, but in a few months, things will be changing for the better.

I do think having to fit into riding suits every spring helped to keep my weight in check. But now, I have to be concerned about diabetes. So, time to do something serious and permanent.
