Today was my Rheumatologist's turn to talk to me about the surgery. I was pretty nervous as he really preferred the band and wanted me to go that way and my surgeon was adamant about the RnY and I was adamant no....so I talked to my partner in health to figure out where we were going, and how to handle my meds as we go.
It was a good appt. I needed it to go well. He was disappointed I can't have the band, but agrees the sleeve is the best choice after that with my RA. He agrees

I've been a bit out of it the past couple of weeks....a bad RA week, and then a week of sleep trying to battle a cold without any immune system. Finally coming out of the bad weeks and have gained back the 7 pounds I lost last week....and frustrated that maybe I won't be able to do this after the surgery either.

The Nut. What an "interesting" abbreviation for this person. Mine is nice enough, I like her, and she was impressed with how far I have come in one month and even with my measly two pound weight loss since my last visit. Yesterday was a hectic crazy full of life day like so many of us face. It was a run all day long, crazy, fun and frenzied day--like we all face. And I did it right! I won!!!!! I am able to do this!!!
It started with having to be up early for church. I made sure that I had time for my new breakfast as part of my 3 month diet and I ate it slow and careful. I had a planned cup of coffee at church and at the pot luck after, I spent the time

So today I am on track, have managed this week not to badly in spite of the two days of post injection nausea, I managed to eat well and am on track. Next week I see the nut again and I made sure this week was one of the two she wanted me to track so she could go over with me some ideas how to handle the nausea and lack of appetite that goes with my meds every other week.
Today I am working on finding some new ways to cook healthier meats for high protein meals. I live in a house
