About Scg
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
I graduated from college a year ago, and am beginning a career in sports, one I truly enjoy. Sports has always been my first love, and couldnt imagine doing anything else. However, because of my size, I've always felt out of place in the industry, being around athletes in tremendous shape, and simply couldn't stand it anymore. When youre friends all look better then you do, its easy to have low confidence, which i do, and its affected my professional life, and my desire to be in romantic relationships, knowing i dont "get the girl" that my friends do. I'm good at what I do, and don't want to be passed over for jobs and avoid living life simply because of my size. That's why I decided to get sleeved.

2013-life changing

by Scg on 01-01-2014 at 04:34 AM
I began 2013 taking a long look in the mirror. Weighing 440 pounds, I was miserable, had no confidence, was at a crossroads. I took it upon myself to get this surgery, and was the best decision of my life. I end 2013 at 259 pounds, 181 lost to date. I'm happier and more confident than I've ever been. I've gone from a 4-6x to an XL-3x shirt, size 56 to size 38 pants, it's turned my life around. As invaluable as the surgery has been, there's no question the diet, exercise and lifestyle changes are

10 Weeks Out. Feeling Good

by Scg on 04-10-2013 at 02:18 PM
Today is 70 days from my surgery, 10 weeks since surgery, and things are going quite well. I weighed in this morning at 344.6. 95.4 pounds lost since I started my Pre-op diet. Over 57 pounds since the day of my surgery. UNBELIEVABLE! I've done diet after diet that has yielded nowhere near the success that this surgery has provided.

I'm really looking forward to hitting the 100 pounds down goal. Hitting 340 will be great, and has really been on my radar since 350. It's funny

8 weeks in and some reflection on the journey so far.

by Scg on 03-28-2013 at 02:03 AM
8 weeks ago today, I was sleeved at402. This morning, I weighed in at 352.8, almost 3pounds down this week, and it doesn't feel like much short term, but long term, man, 88 pounds in 3 months (long term), 50 pounds since surgery in 8 weeks, feels great.

Celebrated by rewarding myself over the weekend. Bought some protein bars and high protein snacks from my surgeons shop (imetabolic, my dr, dr. Sasse is a pretty amazing surgeon in providing all the tools, and they work with all

The honeymoon period is definitely over

by Scg on 03-23-2013 at 06:33 PM
Right now, me and my sleeve are definitely not friends. I had a relatively easy 7.5 weeks from surgery to this point. About a week and a half to start feeling myself again, been great with my diet, and down a little over 85 pounds in my journey. Also, I've been working out 3x a week with high intensity cardio training, I'm more active, and things have been good.

But that's where the good ends. The last few days, as I've been introducing regular foods back into my diet, I find

7 weeks from surgery today.

by Scg on 03-20-2013 at 11:33 AM
Well today marks 7 weeks since I had my surgery, and the weight loss has been very encouraging. I'm down 47 pounds since surgery, 85 in total since I started my 30 day pre-op diet. Crazy! I've never lost this much weight this quickly. Ive gone from weighing daily to weekly because stalls and periods of frustration have been mixed in on this journey, but you can't argue with results.

I am 6'1, started this journey 440 pounds, I've gone from size 56 pants to some old pairs of 48
