So, those of you that have read some of my prior posts know that i owned a bar for several years and have been known to enjoy a good single malt scotch on occasion.
I had tried alcohol at home a few weeks ago to test my tolerance (better then testing it in New York as I live in New Jersey!) because i knew i had an event coming up and there would be booze there. My first test was fair, second was better, and I was ok with a few empty calories.
I went to the event

Not sure if it had anything to do with me trying alcohol last week, but ever since the scale has not moved.
I expected it the day after I drank, but now- some 4 days later - i am still at a stall.
Yesterday I moved an entire cord of wood into the backyard - a LOT of work. I had a protein shake for brkfst, 1 for lunch, and a little chicken for dinner.
The scale actually went up a pound!! I had been on an atkins regime and am wondering if switching it up (i.e.

OK, so i'm back on foods, and as anyone who has read any of my posts know, my journey has (thankfully) been pretty textbook. No new allergies or favorite foods that I no-longer like or can't tolerate. One challenge remained - and as you can tell by the title of this blog, it was alcohol.
Before you start - I know the drill - empty calories, why bother, and smaller stomach makes you get drunk quicker...I get it. Let me put this in perspective:
I OWNED A BAR FOR SEVERAL

Just an update:
Saw My Dr yesterday for my 1 month post op. I am down a total of 50 lbs (20 pre-op, and 30 post -op)! My BP was 115/73. First time it's been normal in years.
My Dr gave me Actigall to prevent gallstone formation.
I am down 8 inches on my waist, and had to buy some new clothes that are already loose. Went from a 2XL (that was getting tight) shirt to a very loose XL.
I am thrilled with my progress and am now on soft regular foods - no more
