I have been a vomiting mess since surgery. The surgery itself went good. But my body has been fighting all the meds. The more nausiated meds they gave me the worse it was. Pain is livable. I cannot keep much down today so far I have not vomited. Im living off water and ice chips today just trying not to puke anymore. I need protien so bad. I had 4 straws full but that made me so yucky. So Im so drained no energy.

I am on disability, but I used to have my own investigative business, which did quite well until the economy tanked. I am morbidly obese, so I have mobility issues. I went to Mexico last November to get the surgery, but there were questions with my health. The EKG wasn't normal there and I had to get an echo cardiogram there. My blood work wasn't great either. So I opted out at the time. I left home thinking my whole life was going to change, and I got home to the same old same old. It has been hard on me.
My local doctor says he'll get me ready for it. I have to wait until July to fit the plans. I am so happy I can get the surgery and to know that you are going, too. I wanted to get to know someone because I know EXACTLY what it feels like to be in that Mexican hotel alone... It's in a scary part of the city, I think that's the way it is there. Lots of fights, drunk driving car-crashes, mariachi bands w/ hookers on the corner, and that was at 6 a.m.

I spent the whole day with doctors and drivers and people at the clinic in my time there. They were very conscientious. They refunded my money. Even though the clinic itself seems freakishly small, they take care of everything and pay attention to details. the hardest thing was lack of communication. Dr. Almanza can speak some English, but he doesn't understand any. They have many doctors there and I wasn't sure they understood what I was saying for the most part. I sure am happy to meet you. Chat soon. Sheri

Hi RoDean, I live in Missoula on Scott Street. According to the map you live in Missoula, too. And we are having surgery within a day of one another. Cool. Where are you?
  4. No pool at the hotel. The Hotel is along a strip that is fun to walk around and shop or go to restaurants (that I couldn’t enjoy with him). I honestly would not have felt comfortable wandering much further than what we did. I am not sure where the beach is from the Hotel, we never saw it while in Mexico. But, there are taxis that I am sure can take them. My husband buddied up with a couple of the other Husbands. We weren’t gone for too long, and they just wanted to stay close so they didn’t miss us when we were dropped off.
  5. It was. My husband and I call it our "adventure". Put aside the fact your having surgery and dealin with the recovery, we had a blast! It's just use your instincts. We staying inside the hotel after dark.

I can eat approximately three ounces. Five to six average bites. Not to big out to small. And i can drink average drinks not just sips. I like that since I'm diabetic and get thirsty. Dips don't do it. But I'm excited about getting to eat textured foods instead of liquids.
  7. good luck with the purees. I have been trying so hard to practice the eating very slow, small bites, and chewing at least 20 times, crap if I can remember to do it, may i get three bites down that way, then I will start talking and it all goes out the window. That I think will be the hardest part for me, I was a shovel-er for sure!!

I'm doing fine thx. I'm almost over my cold, been on antibiotics for six days more. Four more to go. I'm sick of liquids. I start pureed tomorrow. I know I'll do well because i actually Ste purees a couple of times already and did fine, but went back to liquids so i wouldn't screw up my sleeve. Thx for caring.
  9. Thanks! Sorry I haven't replied yet. Everything went real well. I get my stitches out on Friday, yahoo! And I am down 22 lbs. which feels GREAT! Thank you for your support!

Well welcome to the new world and soon a new you. I just got sleeved just over a week ago and would do it again in an instant. Just the idea that food no longer rules my life is enough even if I never lost a pound (although that would be great). I was very much like you trying everything and yoyoing all the time. Best of luck on your new journey and stay in touch.

Second Surgery and again...failure

by RoDean on 11-03-2016 at 10:05 AM
So, I went to have my re-sleeve in March of this year and I feel as though I have been a victim of the worlds biggest fraud. I am almost 99% positive that I was cut open on the table and absolutely nothing was done to my stomach. I woke up and had the easiest recovery in the world, with the exception of felling as though I had, had a surgery and been on anesthesia. I began "sipping fluids" as soon as Dr. Almanzas team would let me and went through cup after cup of apple juice and broth,

Weight lost

by RoDean on 03-28-2016 at 01:36 PM
So, I am 2 weeks out from my surgery and 11 lbs down. On my 5 day clear liquid pre-op diet which I followed to a "T" I lost a whopping 1 ounce. I was so mad. I knew something was broken with my sleeve and that proved it. I am so glad I had the revision and that the weight is coming off again. I am now 10 lbs away from 100 total lbs lost. I told my husband that this morning and then told him he better start saving his money, because my goal was always once 100 lbs were off, I got
