Update for 2015

by healthyandstrong on 12-27-2015 at 09:28 AM
I am still maintaining my weight at 142 pounds. I still live by the principles of eating protein first, listen to my stomach's question of fullness, eat slowly, chew thoroughly, and drink in between meals. I am an endurance athlete, practice yoga, and take care of my emotional and mental stress in ways that are not related to food. I make sure I recognize fatigue and deal with it appropriately. These are all elements of my success that help the surgery be a great tool to accomplish weight loss.

11 months out

Started training for the two triathlons, or maybe three, I am scheduled to compete in this coming summer with my sisters. I have taken a position of coach or training guide which helps us all keep motivated to reach this goal of completing the triathlon in a healthy way. I have already completed two triathlons over the past two years, so that makes me an expert oddly enough.

Each year I have done my triathlons a little different than the last and this year is no exception. This year

As I have gotten closer to my goal I have found out that my goal weight I set for myself is not reasonable. I am now down to 152 pounds and I fit comfortably into size 6 tall skinny jeans and medium shirt. 135 pounds is

Two of my sisters were inspired by my race this year and are commiting to do their first triathlon next year, (as I do it again next year). I am only allowed to complete one triathlon

Sleeved on Otherside

This is my experience with my surgery recently in Tijuana Mexico. Before embarking in this surgery I did a lot of research about the surgery and then about the Self-pay option in Mexico. I did not get approved by my insurance due to my insurance saying that my co-morbidities are not severe enough in their opinion. I could have appealed this decision and still had my surgery in the US, but after a lot of research I became convinced that I would be doing myself a disservice by using the Us doctors
