I took a full week off of work, probably could have taken 2 more days (had on Wednesday -- should have taken the next week off). I resumed running after 3 weeks (much shorter distances) and started resistance work about 1 month out. I healed quickly and pushed the envelope.

Thanks. Doing well. Tummy healing really well. Finally! It was much tougher recovery than sleeve, but worth it.

Thanks for the message and the compliments! I am about 5'3 1/2". I am going to try and get some pics of the other wigs...I'm just not use to how they look! I guess if one didnt know me, they would look normal. Its just kind of a shock to me, though. :-)

Thanks Di for thinking of me, I am OK, just want to hurry and get TJ experience behind me. I drink water like a fish, I can't imagine NOT being able to drink. How much are you down? Are you doing OK? Send me any necessary pointers....Thanks sooo much!!

Doing good Diane. I am down 75lbs so far. Eat a little bit but not much, mostly by choice at this point. I drink a lot of milk. I had to get some heartburn medication. I was having heartburn like crazy at night. Other than that, I am doing pretty damn good. No side effects no problems. I had to change out my entire wardrobe. Pants went from a 44 to a 38 almost 36 soon. Shirts from a 3xl to an XL. So it has been fun. I am starting to get people who don't recognize me now...lol. Energy has been great. Have you heard from anyone else from the group, I would like to know how they are all doing to? But waiting to drink is one of the biggest problems I have. Plus I haven't started excersising yet either...damn it...lol

Wearning my heart on my Sleeve.

by imtad on 03-03-2013 at 11:01 AM
Well, I was going to do a blog journal of my entire experience but unfortunately it turned into a danged book. Too big for here, I think. What I do want to put out here to clear my conscience is this.

I am 12 days post op now. I have lost 12ish pounds. Good enough for me but I think kind of slow. I know it is about a pound a day and that's good. That is not what this confession is about though.
I have not followed the written rules and I don't care! I had a really rough 1st

Can't find old post

by imtad on 02-25-2013 at 07:20 AM
I have been looking for an older post where the conversation was about feeling like you've got a knot in your throat. I cannot locate it.
I am having a terrible time with feeling like I have an acid bubble at the top of my throat and a feeling of an under chewed piece of steak about at the "bread basket" area.
The acid bubble has made me vomit a couple of times. My mouth gets to watering so profusely and then I lose it.
I have gotten up and walked for 10-15 minutes

Excellent video

by imtad on 02-14-2013 at 04:32 PM
I cannot find what page I was on a bit earlier, but I think her name was Debi...not sure. Anywhozenwhatsers she suggested a video from her Doctors web site. I went there and finally found the video and was mesmerized by it. It is really long like hour n a half long...
The video is a live gastric sleeve operation with the repairing of a hernia. WOW and WOW. I had no idea how it was really done and I so wish that everyone of us could make sure our own Doctors watched it. Well at least my Doctor.
