Wow, who is that young man! Good for you and for putting in your 2 cents this morning.
I know that we both love our new lives. I caught myself looking for some new exercise classes this morning - something that has never happened before in my life!
    Take care. Leann

Where are you from in LA? I live in Mandeville and I'm reluctant to tell my Dr. where I'm going to do surgery because of reactions I might get.

Can anyone tell me if they were able to go back to work the following week after surgery? I am scheduled for gastric sleeve with Dr. Almanza in Mexico on June 11, 2013 and was planning on returning to work on June 17th.

Looking amazing already!! Keep up the hard but good work!
  7. Hi cheryl, glad you are doing well too! I too only eat about 1/8 of what i used to eat, lol, this is normal. I just eat more often. I never feel hunger, but mentally i know i must eat to keep my health. I cooked a nice meal for my family today, i even enjoyed about 4 spoonsfull of rice w/gravy, and a small serving of steamed spinach. You gotta take it slow. I enjoy yogurt, or oatmeal for breakfast, coffee, something light later like soup, jellos, protein shakes, etc... Just take it slow, it'll get better. And no, i dont have any trouble knowing when i'm full. I know that our stomachs only hold approximately 6 to 8 oz of food at a time, so i try and measure my servings. If you really would eat too much i'm sure your body may reject it, but i dont put my stomach and my sleeve through that, wouldnt want to stress my sleeve, or stretch my new baby stomach that i'm so proud of, lol!

glad to see you are doing good. I am doing good to, learning to eat the right things and in small bit and all . my husband said that i only eat 1/8 of what i used to eat, do you have a hard time feeling when you are full?
  9. Feeling good people! 290 pds pre op, and 16 days after, 258 pds! Went from a xxxlarge shirt, down to a xlarge today! Check out my before and after pics! I'm still taking it slow and easy on introducing new foods to my stomach. So far, i do well. I personally never vomited not once post surgery to date, but i take real real good care of my self. Daily vitamins, clean incisions, there almost gone. I cant wait to get in the gym, and start excercising! Best decision i ever made! Stay tuned everyone!
  10. Hi everyone, I'll make this one short cause I'm on my cell phone. I have been taking my clindamyacin antibiotic medication, cleaning wounds twice a day with antibacterial soap only as directed by local ER doc. They are looking great, infection is gone, still gonna finish out whole script as instructed though, incisions are closing up super nice now. Today I was down from 287 pds to 258 pds! I feel great! I have been doing a great deal of sleeping purposely to heal my body. Taking my vitamins, etc! I feel really good! Another week and I believe my incisions will be totally gone. I can't wait to start exercising to get my sweat on. Stay safe and positive everyone, be back soon, take care. Travis.
  11. Hey Travis just wanted to see how the infection is clearing up. I leave tomorrow and am a little nervous!!

Hey Travis, just checking in to see how you are doing? Order some Frankenscense Oil (It is an essential oil that has natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties). Once i started putting this on my wounds they healed up super fast! I got my from Amazon. I think you would be super happy with it! Let me know how it works for you! (My wounds opened up and NEVER got infected! Sincerely, Tracy
  13. Wow, what a deal, did i get lucky or what! So i think this; dr. Mario almanza reyes is a great surgeon, no doubt. You will get a great sleeve, what you paid for, but be leary of the meds and aftercare, make sure that you get with your local doctor, follow up, and watch your recovery wounds close. I know i have cleaned wounds, done everyone advised and then some, and i got a slight infection, which could happen to anyone anywhere, even if everything is done correctly. Till next time everyone, take care.
  14. Hey guys/gals! Thank you everyone for checking on me as well. I have to say that i have felt wonderfull after my sleeve, only a week and a half out though. Yesterday, i felt like my wounds where i was stiched were annoyed, redness around them all, so i went to the er at one of our local hospital, and they advised that i had a pretty good infection in those areas, due to some redness around the stiched wounds. They asked me what meds i was taking, and prescribed. When i told them, they stated that the antibiotics were not good enough at all, gave me a huge shot in my ass of clindamycin (600 mg), and presscribed me a large bottle of 28, (150 mg) advising me to take one every six hrs. Took a culture sample of the infection area, sent it to the lab, and advised that they were sure what they had prescribed would knock it out, but if the lab results showed that the infection wasnt treatable by what i was given, that i would be notified within three days. I recieved absolutely no negativity from the er doctor, especially that i had my sleeve done in tijuana, mx by dr. Almanza. He actually had worked for years in san diego, ca. Advised me that he knew dr. Almanza, and that he was a great surgeon. The er also took four(4), i repeat (4) x-rays of my abdomen, advised me that my sleeve looked great, and allowed mye to see them, and advised that i could have copies!
