I'm about 2 weeks after you and we're so close in progress - congrats! I gotta ask, how's your hair hanging in there?

Yes, all from bariatricchoice.com. If you want anything specific, lemme know and I'll link you. That said, the whole site's worth looking at.

The Genesis Crossfit program is $500 for 8 weeks. Three workouts a week and constant feedback about your food log. Participants are encouraged to follow the Paleo diet. I think there's another class starting in April. Check out Crossfit. We have a camp on a hunting lease just south of Winnfield. My husband works offshore, so we don't get up there nearly as often as we'd like to. The next time I ride my 4-wheeler, I'll be 50 lbs lighter than I was the last time. Wonder if that's going to change the experience. So many things already seem different. I even sat cross-legged on my bed earlier - haven't done that in awhile! LOL

Glad to hear your test results were good. You'll get good info from the dietician - I've got tons more resources that I've found over the past few months. I'm happy to share. If I could find you on FB, I could add you to the group Life After Weight Loss Surgery. Great group of people - extremely supportive - no questions are too stupid or embarrassing to ask. It's a closed group, so everything that's posted stays in there and doesn't get posted on your wall or anything. Do you want to try and send me another request?

Hope you have a great week!

Hi there! I don't know what's going on with FB, but I haven't gotten a friend request or message. I true looking you up but couldn't find you.

You asked about exercising. Dr Bledsoe got together with one of the guys who owns Crossfit gym in Alex to design an 8-week program for people who are overweight - not the skinny little stick people. LOL We workout 3 times a week. It's the hardest physical thing I've ever done. I'm also a member at the Athletic Club at LC.

I just saw that you're a social worker. I work for the school system - you might know some of our social workers. Are you from here?

Anyway, I'm fixin to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather. We're planning to go to our camp next weekend and ride 4-wheelers - hope the weather stays nice. Hope you have a great week!

So happy that you're moving forward with everything! I can't even tell you how much better I feel. I'll be 9 weeks Wednesday and have lost nearly 50 lbs. I'm exercising regularly and following the Paleo way of eating. You're so lucky that your insurance will pay - mine didn't.

Do NOT let other people's opinions and negativity get to you. The ONLY thing that matters is your health and well-being. Did you search for me on Facebook? There's also a group you might consider joining. It's called Life After Weight Loss Surgery, but you can join at any point on your journey. It's a closed group, so someone will have to add you, but anything you post in there stays in there - it doesn't show up on your wall or news feed.

I'm going to see if I can find you on FB.

How did your consultation go? Do you have a surgery date yet? You're so lucky that your insurance will cover it! Mine covered nothing, even though doctors deemed it medically necessary. Start drinking LOTS of water everyday to get in the habit, and start cutting out sodas, sugar, and caffeine. Chew everything until it's almost pureed. I bought plastic baby spoons and used those for several weeks prior to surgery so that I'd be forced to take smaller bites. I'm on Facebook - Ann Brumfield Nason - if you want to look me up.
  9. I'm very excited! I have my first consultation today, and I'm nervous! I'm NEVER nervous! I guess it's just that it's taken me a long time to 1) Make up my mind to really do this and 2) Obtain insurance that will cover it, that I'm TERRIFIED they'll tell me "no" for some reason! Can you tell me some things about your experience?

I'm 71 pounds down, 26 weeks out (6 months), and I feel fantastic. Seriously, I'm gonna start exercising soon! I swear! My hair is falling out, even with Biotin. I managed to button and zip a size 9 last night....don't get me wrong, the pants don't fit PROPERLY at ALL, but I buttoned and zipped them. Cute clothes....Yay! More energy...yay! Took a 2nd job, socializing more, cooking for my kids more, doing more with my kids in general, feeling happier and healthier in general...just fantastic.

Just a quick note...60lbs down in 4 months. Awesome. I should be exercising but I'm not. Broken toe. Happier and healthier. No regrets. Size 18-20 down to 12, really need to move down a size again. My funny story....my husband decided I'd lost enough that we could have sex with him standing up fully supporting me. He was wrong, lol. God love him, he says "it's not you baby, it's me! I need to hit the weights at the gym!"

I said I wouldn't do this, either...

Ok, so I lost 16 pounds in the first week. And only 19 pounds since then! It's been 49 days since surgery and I'm 35 pounds down. I know I'm not supposed to compare my progress to others' but I can't help but be a little jealous that other folks are losing twice as fast as I am. I know what the problem is. Exercise. Or, more specifically, lack of it. Nothing about the humidity in Louisiana has changed, and neither has my schedule, so finding the right time is still a problem. I've got to
