So I am 19 days out and had my first Nut post op appt. I told her my concerns about lack of protein and low calories. She agreed that I am way too low but I told her how I could only do 2 - 3 spoonfuls of anything and I am done. She wanted me to do a swallow test before advancing me to Puree.
Drank the yucky stuff to find that I have a narrowing going on in two places. So I suppose this is the dreaded stricture I have heard about. The tech said I had to have another EGD and they
Gotta question..... Does anyone else eat and after 2 or 3 spoons (my limit) once the food hit the stomach, do you have this weird feeling like you have ate too much food and just have to be still to let the system digest? I get weird nausea/tired feeling when I eat. But after 5 mins exactly, I am good and ready to move on. Weird. I am thinking I am eating too fast, certainly not too much. I read somewhere today that you should wait 5 mins in between each bite. I didnt' know that!
So I am officially sleeved. 3 days post op...feeling extremly sore, limited in movement (never knew how much you used your dang stomach muscles).
Friday day of surgery, I only had 2hrs of sleep. I got to the hospital and had a very nervouse stomach. IBS working overtime. Got a call the next day saying that United Healthcare would not pay unless surgicenter was a "center of excellence". I was also told that I was anemiac and to take 15mg of
Sooo, I got a wonderful (not) phone call from my doctor's office. So it turns out that the surgicenter called and stated that the insurance company will only pay for my surgery at a "center of excellence" and unfortunately they are not one. SO 6 days until surgery, there will be no surgery. She goes on to tell me that the "center of excellence" that Dr. Smith is affiliated with won't have anything available until DECEMBER 9th!!!!!!!! Oh, did I mention, was also told in
