Did you feel well cared for besides the communication problem? Did you feel you made a good choice in Dr. Ramos Kelly? How are you doing now?

I'm going to Ramos/Kelly (hopefully) April 26th... how was your experience? do you recommend him?

Hi Kizzy. I think you were next door - Dr. Kelly put a drain in me and I kinda grumbled about it, and he told me the patient next door didn't need one, he does it as an 'as need' only. I had a rough three first days and ended up staying in hospital for four nights. Had some bleeding and leaking complications and I was also in withdrawl from some medications I take for fibromyalgia. As soon as I was able to take them again I felt just fine except for that stupid pain I was talking about! SO glad that you feel the same pain - not that I want anyone to feel it, but I feel less alone and it normalizes things for me. And yours went away today? I hope so for me as well. It can be discouraging because I'm not eating or drinking what I should. What protein shakes do you like? I've yet to find one I enjoy. I too am looking forward to food - i dream of salmon and spinach salad so I'm happy its not cheeseburgers and fries, but I also know that it will be several weeks before I can get off the pureed life, so I try to keep my fantasies quiet as much as I can!!

Hi there, I just learned we had surgery on the same day with the same doctor. Did we meet on the day you have to drink the barium?
Do you ever have pain when swallowing (around the sternum)? I have no incision or tummy pain but when I eat or drink it creates instant pain! I'm just wondering if you experience the same. Maybe I'm eating the wrong things - what have you been eating for the past couple of weeks? I tend to do yogurt in the am, and pureed or clear soup for lunch and dinner. I have had applesauce a few times. I'd love to keep in touch with you!!!

well we both have 10 days under our sleeves! How are you doing? One thing I do like to drink is diluted tomato juice. The protein shake are starting to get old. I have cream soups diluted with skim milk (to get more protein) sometimes I add unflavored protein powder ( they have a taste and do change the way he soup taste). I love the chicken broth, also popsicles. A lot of sounds coming from my stomach. NO pain at all now. Anyway, I cannot wait till next week when I can have pureed foods! It is like being a baby again, lol.

I am doing great. How are you doing? I am still on still liquids for 2 weeks so I am looking forward to having a Little pureed food. I watch food commercials and would like just a teeny bite. I have lost 14 lbs from the day I left the hospital.

About kizzy1888
Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
Well, I better get this started. I have been heavy all of my life. I was a size 16/18 at 10 years old. I was a size 28 when I graduated high school. Currently a size 32/34. I was active all of my high school days. I played tennis and was quite good. I have worked in very physical jobs all of my adult life and just seemed to continue gaining weight. I was 396lbs after I had my daughter. I quit working after I had her and gained steadily all to way up to where I am now at 450ish lbs. My main goal and focus is to lose enough weight to be able to take my daughter to DisneyLand in 3 years and to fit on all the rides. I haven't been able to enjoy myself with activities in a very long time. I have made excuses and lied to myself for years. I'm DONE! This will change my life forever.

Needing some help...

by kizzy1888 on 03-11-2013 at 11:00 AM
Alright, ya'll...I am 7 days out from surgery and I am still so very confused! I do not yet know if I'm hungry, full, or if it's just pressure from the gas. My stomach gurgles with or without food. I'm already feeling frustrated! Yesterday I had one gatorade and MAYBE one full cup of soup..all spread out over the whole day. I'm sure I'm battling head hunger but I'm not sure how to start. I'm feeling pretty weak because I haven't eaten in so long. How did y'all start back on food? Am I doing what

So thankful!

by kizzy1888 on 01-18-2013 at 01:13 AM
I am so thankful to have found this site! Reading all your posts and success stories have encouraged me so much. I am 46 days away from my surgery and I am feeling a wide range of emotions. I'm nervous, scared, excited, and blessed. I'm starting to prepare myself and my home for the after care. I want to buy the vitamins, protein shakes/supplements, and MagicBullet. I figure, that way I will be prepared when I get home and have a few less stresses. I have requested 90 hours of PaidTimeOff from work
