5 years after surgery now!! Wow!! BUT .... am now sitting around 53kgs. Darn it!! My own fault because I drink a glass or two of wine at night. No more, because I just don't want it, but even that is too much. I try to keep my calories at 1000-1200 per day, but don't always succeed. We are retired now and do a lot of travel, usually on cruise ships, so you can imagine how that goes with food and wine!! I am annoyed with myself, and will just have to go back to basics to get it off before my next cruise in September. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Nearly 3 years out and still around the 50.5kg mark. Varies a little from 52 down to 50.5kgs depending on what I have been doing. But still thrilled!! Surgery was 5th February, 2013.

GOAL REACHED!!!! 34 weeks after my operation, I have reached goal. I just can't believe I got here this quickly. I stalled at 57kgs for 3-4 weeks, but then took off again. That was my only big stall. I am off all my blood pressure and high cholesterol medications and I feel fantastic. This was the best thing I have ever done!!!!

Thanks to "livingonaprayer" and "naturallycurious42" for your good wishes. It is Thursday in Brissie, and I was sleeved on Tuesday. Just got home from hospital. I had quite a large hiatal hernia to be fixed as well, so have to be extra careful of the stitches. Will report more in the next few days.

Thanks to everyone for their good wishes. 1 week to go to surgery today!!! Can't wait. I just want to get on with my new life. It is hard to believe that weight comes off so quickly, so I can't get my head around it.

Finally got a date for surgery. 5th February!!! A little nervous, but also excited. Is there anyone else on the 5th?

Hey Saphy I am not yet booked, but I will go ahead. I just have to have all my bloods, scope etc. and if all ok then I will get a date.

Are you booked for one or still deciding? I'm on day 7 so it's not fantastic yet and there is still a lot to come to grips with but I already have no regrets
