Well, I hope everything is going well for you and sorry it took so long to reply back to you. I will have to try those snacks that you mentioned in the last reply from you. They sound really good, I love stuff like that. Let me know how you are progressing, would love to hear how it's going for you.

And as far as portions, I let my body tell me when to stop. It's been a huge adjustment because in the past I always ate so fast and would not let my body tell me I was full and then I would a lot of times overeat. At the first sign of feeling any kind of fullness I stop and then wait for a bit and then may have one or two bites more but never more than two. I had the hardest time with the mental aspect of it not eating just because it tastes good but now look at it as my body needs nourishment or fuel to get me through the day. I still snack but in very small portions, craving salt. I dont use near the salt on my dinners and of course I eat much less therefore I guess my body needs more salt. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me. This journey is not an easy task at times but so much worth in and if I can help one person along the way it just makes it even better.

    Hello,
Sorry, guess the pic I have on here can be deceiving a bit. But I am the one on the far left, the husband. No, I actually haven't started working out at all yet. The weight just keeps falling off, lol no complaints here. I am going to start in the next two weeks with walking and riding a bike. But I weighed this morning and was down 1.5lbs from yesterday. I don't know how much overweight you are/were but I should have been around 170lbs and I weighed 360lbs. So, of course it's going to drop off of me quite a bit faster. Other than that, I usually try to force myself to eat a high fiber breakfast such as shredded wheat or raisin bran, very small bowl, not even a serving. Lol never knew a suggested serving until after having the surgery. Servings for a regular person are so small lol but too large for me now. At lunch usually peanut butter & crackers or cheese and crackers or something similiar, and then for dinner very small portions of whatever we may have that night, doesn't matter what it is, havent changed that much on it. Although, I don't eat pasta or potatoes as often as I did pre-op for the simple fact that they still make me somewhat nauseated. And dairy not much either due to probably being lactose intolerable now. Dr Alamanza told us in a meeting pre-op that there would be a good chance at being lactose intolerant post-op and guess I am. Lactose pills from Wal Mart otc work just fine for me.

  10. Hi. Thanks for writing. Perhaps I didn't communicate my "last resort" comment properly. I didn't mean to imply anything negative....only that before I went through with surgery, I wanted to make sure that I felt comfortable that I had tried all that I could on my own. I'm now comfortable with the decision that this isn't going to be dieted away and I'm ready.

Hey wanted to stop and say hi and give you some motivation. This surgery is not anyones last resort. And it is definitely worth it. Diet and exercise never worked.for me in the long run. Now at the ripe age of 29 I am dealing with just having back surgery, not being able to function, and having to use a cane or walker to get around. My wieght is a.big factor and I know this will help me get better. It is a good choice for anyone who has suffered.as long as.most of us have. Please consider this. It may save your life.

    Take care

Biography:
Gee this is hard! I don't really know what to say... I'm married 31 years, mother of 4 (ages 26, 21, 18 and 14) and I've struggled with my weight all of my life. I went to Quick Weight Loss Clinic in NYC before my wedding and I think that was the beginning of my real weight problems. I've systematically gained weight ever since I stopped their program. And I've finally decided enough is enough! I need to become healthy so that I can be here for my children and my future grandchildren! There's too much living left for me to do and I don't want to miss out on any more of it!
