I appreciate your response. I am still somewhat stalled and realize not getting enough protein in. I am so scared of carbs that I hold myself back. I just looked at others who are loosing slowly and want that kind of loss. It just sort of blows my mind to know that someone who had surgery last month has already lost more than me. For some of the postings, I started with less so guess it takes a little longer. I have promised myself to stop comparing. I also was a type II diabetic and have thyroid issues. I lost 4 sizes in pants but upper body is problem. Most of my weight is there. Dont have to go to womens sizes anymore but I still tend to gravitate to them out of habit. I have found a way to cook chicken and fish in steamer bags and it is quick, no mess and yummy. I wish you luck too and please stay in touch. Sincerely.

Hi there! I didn't get any notifications, except the one today.
Today is officially 9 weeks post-op. Everything is going well. Still losing, this week -3.8 yay!! I'm lucky if I hit 650-700 calories a day, but it's not because I am not trying. And 120 of those calories are my calcium citrate chews. lol I am getting all of my protein in, so that's a plus.
I am almost eating all day attempting to get them all in. Making good choices, for the most part but if I want to try something, I do. maybe just a bite and I am satisfied. It's great to have that control and not be consumed or feel the need to eat it all.
It's definitely cheaper now, as far as food goes. I don't even order anything to eat when going out. I can take a bite off of my kids plates and be satisfied. (there are 4 of them so my 4 bites and I am full.)

Tell me how everything is going with you?!!

Heather, I also have had, as my only true physical complication (besides the hair loss!) a lot of post-surgical acid. I too was prescribed prilosec which I took daily for 2 months and even though I did have an occasional flair up as you described, it did get a lot better. Now, at 7 months, I only take a pill every 3rd day and it manages the acid well. My NP told me that for as long as 6 months, our bodies continue to produce the full amount of stomach acid despite having a little tummy- so we often have pain from it- but over time, it learns to produce less and less and it becomes less of an issue. I have experienced this so far and hope it continues to improve- and I hope the same will happen for you! There is a good chance it will.

Oh my goodness Heather, what a kind thing to say!! You're wonderful! Congratulations on your recent sleeve- you were sleeved on my birthday so it must mean we were meant to meet!! I hope you're recovering well and feeling good!! This is truly the greatest and most exciting journey of my life and I am happy to be able to give back even the smallest comfort and support to this community after all they have given me!

    Hey Heather!
Thanks for remembering me! Yes, my day is coming up, and so my nerves are wining me over!
Anything you can recommend I take besides Gas-X strips, chap stick etc...
Also, how are you doing so far? If you don't mind me asking how many pounds you have lost s far? Do you feel the restriction when you eat soft foods?

Thanks again, and its so nice of you to keep in touch with me!! I will update after I have my surgery on Saturday
