yeah that's true, I did start adding carbs however I see now that my weightloss is staggering and not as rapid as the week before so that's worrisome for me, im thinking and going back to the clear liquid stage because im so scared of not losing the weight like I should be

So glad you are doing well! You look great. I have been extremely busy and haven't he's a lot of time to post. I am at home today with a stomach virus. Boo! I just wanted to fast hi as keep up the great work. I am looking forward to getting to a size 14 , almost there. I am wearing 16 right now which I am excited about because I had all of these clothes in my closet that I couldn't wear anymore and now I am back in them. Take care!

    (3) The other thing I wanted to share with you is bountifulbaskets.org. It might be called something different in your area. But it's a produce co-op. For $15 we got a laundry basket full of fresh fruits and veggies and granola. My husband and i just bought our first basket this weekend. We got a lot of the staples.... broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, spinach, lettuce, apples, oranges, bananas, grapefruit, limes, lemons.... but we got some pretty interesting things too - lemon grass, daikon, parsnip..... So, we went on the hunt and found recipes for them. It almost forces healthier eating - but we had fun doing it. I'm in awe of my own transformation because up until last year when I started on this path, I was the anti-cooker. If I couldn't microwave it, it didn't make it into our house. Now, it's all about the outer ring of the grocery store....almost nothing I buy anymore is in a box.
Well, I have certainly rambled on! Hang in there! I think you might enjoy lifting some weights. You can even buy water weights at WalMart ... you will them with water and they Velcro around your ankles and wrists. You can wear them around the house while you're cleaning.
    Good luck!

    (2) My doctor did caution me in our last visit that my weight loss is pretty high and that I will likely plateau sooner than others....and probably soon. I gained a couple of pounds, but I know lifting weights is probably the cause. I still feel better. I am really trying to focus on toning my arms as much as possible in the hopes that I won't have so much flab on my upper arms!
Don't worry about being out of shape! We all are....or we wouldn't be on this site. Start slowly and work your way up. Just make sure you are cleared with your doc. And remember, you're ahead of everyone still sittin' in the couch.
I am still low on the calorie count too. But, I noticed that I am hungrier sooner since I started lifting weights. I used to eat breakfast at about 7:30, lunch at 1:00, and dinner about 6:30. I wouldn't be hungry in between meal times. Now, I am hungry by noon and 5:30. So, I think I am going to start taking small servings of nuts or trail mix and start eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I'm a little hesitant....I don't want to be counter productive, but I think being really really hungry an hour before a meal time means I'm more likely to eat too much or too fast or just eat the wrong thing. I just have to watch the portions.

Well, I stumbled across a fitness platform on our town's Facebook garage sale page for $20. It's called a Brookstone Total Fitness Platform. It's a pulley system where I can adjust the tension from 5 pounds to 75 pounds. It retails for over $120, so it was a lucky find. I started out a just 5 pounds and would do 1 set of 10-15 reps in the morning, and then 2 sets in the evening about an hour before bed. I've gradually increased the weight, and the reps. The platform allows me to po do the basics.... biceps, triceps, pecs, traps, squats to work out the quads.... but eventually I will move to using my husband's weight bench so i will have more options.
I just checked eBay and there is one available there. Exercise Platform Workout Gym | eBay. This is exactly what I use. You might be able to find something similar for a better price. Here is a link to information about it: Full-Body Home Exercise Machines at Brookstone. I am really enjoying it. It is heavy, but it fits under the coffee table or the bed. (continued)

WoW! You're really pushing the water! GREAT JOB! I am struggling with the amount of water I should be consuming. I feel like I'm drowning after about 32 ounces, but I still try to push myself every day. I've been lifting weights and walking as much as I can. I am fortunate enough to work on a small college campus, so I can walk around quite a bit throughout the day - and now that the snow has melted, the weather is finally nice enough to actually be outside. Keep on pushing! How are you doing with the weight loss??

Hope you are well. Still no significant weight loss but I went to the doctor yesterday and my A1C is almost normal. Cholesterol is very high compared to when I was on meds but the doc says that she has seen it take months to go down. My thyroid is a little off so she is going to retest me.

I still can't find anyone who wants to workout or walk with me.

I forgot to mention that some days I may eat 2 sandwiches a day, for my egg and cheese and my PB sandwich.

I was bad yesterday, I will tell you about it later in the letter.

I am amazed how much of some things I can eat but others not too much. Most of the time for breakfast I have 2 eggs and about 2 tablespoons of grated cheese. Today for breakfast I ate a sandwich with 4 slices of Spam, one egg and cheese. Lunch 1/2 cup of turkey salad, 1/4 of a Roma tomato, 12 slices of avocado, and 1 croccatini. For dinner, 1/2 cup of clam chowder, 1 small crab cake, 1 piece of shrimp. Snack is 1 Quest protein bar. This is much less and different types of food than I used to eat. On my work days in addition to my 3 meals, I eat a peanut butter sandwich with 2 tablespoons of PB. During the night I may eat 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. 1/4 of Greek yogurt, and 1/4 cup of Jello.

I have not lost a pound since Feb. 8th. I have not been exercising.

How I was bad. I took a bus trip to a casino and someone bought me a huge chocolate eclair, loads of cream, I ate the whole thing.

Getting back into the swing of things...

by Hlydly on 03-27-2013 at 08:42 PM
So I had a week long business trip and then a very busy week at work, then got sick, and my son broke his wrist... all of these are my reasons for not logging in and keeping up with this site. Which I really need to get back into because this is my only real support group! And I am a very big believer in support groups of like-minded folks with the same goals and challenges. So I am back. I have also not been logging my food on myfitnesspal.com which I had been very faithful about doing. So,

Feeling low....

by Hlydly on 02-01-2013 at 08:16 PM
Today has been a little hard. I have felt very emotional and sad...I think I am missing food! It has been a really stressful week at work and usually I would have gone out to lunch a couple of times and maybe even out to eat at night with the family. Everyone around me keeps eating and I am struggling to get all my protein in and worried that I am stretching my pouch because I can drink so much water at one time. I am tired of obsessing about the size of my stomach... it must be ok or I wouldn't

Under 200!

by Hlydly on 02-01-2013 at 08:10 PM
Yesterday, I weighed 199.6. Its not much under but I will take it! Of course today I was 200.2, but I expected that. It seems to take 2-3 days for my new lowest weight to stick. I am allowed to eat soft foods now but I am going pretty slow. I thought I would be anxious to start chewing again, but actually, I like my protein drinks and pureed soups. Its just really easy right now, I like the routine. I am very happy about my weight loss so far. And the best thing is knowing that it will continue.

Day 15 - Time to puree'

by Hlydly on 01-23-2013 at 11:39 AM
I am able to eat slightly thicker liquids now, but not very much at a time. After being sick on Monday, I am careful now to make sure I get a few carbs in each day. How weird is that?? Counting carbs to make sure I get enough?? I love this!
I am slowly reentering my life.. first day back at work yesterday, went around saying hi to everyone and checking in... I am very lucky to work with such a supportive group of people. Some asked a few questions, but mostly I just gave my spiel of

Gastric Sleeve Bingo

by Hlydly on 01-19-2013 at 10:54 AM
I am going to make a list of all of the things that I have read on these pages that I can expect to happen during my first few months post op. Then I am going to put those on a bingo card and that way I will be happy and excited when something happens, good or bad, because I will be filling my bingo card up! Here is what I have so far:

You don't look big enough to have that surgery.
I'm not going to like you when you are skinny.
I don't know what I am going to do when
