Karen, I am doing the same thing. Eating like it will be the last food I ever have! My surgery is March 4 and I just has my pre admission done. Very nervous. I hope all goes well for us.

Hi Karen - I tried some of the protein recipes you sent! Thanks so much!! I'm finding that I just want to eat everything!! I have one more week before clear liquids and I'm eating all my favorite foods - almost like I'll never eat again. Every meal feels like my last! hi just started my process by meeting with the surgeon. hoping to make friends here who will support me thru this process.

I feel the same way - I keep thinking that I will never get to eat my favorite foods again. I know I will. I am ready to get it over with and start losing weight. I have about 100 pounds to lose. I was stressing over getting approved by my insurance (I got it) and now the reality has hit home - This is going to happen. I have not told any of my family members - I have the support of my good friends. It is good to have someone else to talk too - this is why I joined this site.

Hello, my surgery is scheduled for 02/11/2013 - In hampton with Dr. Clark - I am both excited and nervous.

Karen - I have not tried PB2 altho I've heard lots of people say they like it. I think I'd rather go for the real deal as far as PB is concerned. As far as unjury, I like it "ok." The chicken soup was a nice change during the liquid phase because it was so nice to have that instead of a chocolate protein shake. I do have the strawberry unjury stuff that you put in water and I do use that sometimes when I am home and need some protein.

Hi - I have had the magic bullet for a long time and I forgot I even had it. I went to make the carnation instant breakfast and it was just gross without Ice so I decided to put it in the bullet. It ended up making it like a shake. My refrigerator has a crushed Ice option so I just put the crushed ice in the bullet with milk and the instant breakfast and blend it up. It works great - no chunks. I have also taken soup and put it in my magic bullet. I would highly recomend it because unlike a large blender, you just use the cup you blend in so clean up is so much easier.

I would love the recipes! I'm not especially creative with protein powder and I know that a full liquid diet will be a challenge for me!!!

Hi Karenricha - My Dr. Is requiring a full 2 weeks of clear liquid!!! It will be a major challenge for me! I'm starting to try different protein drinks to see what I might like since I will have to start on Feb 1st. I'm so excited to be able to wear cute clothes and to feel good in my body!! How are you doing? Ready?! : )

I am one week post-op (Dec. 26) and I am finding that now the surgery is completed the small bites are easier because you are just savoring every little bit. I don't mind not drinking with my meal but I am finding it hard to get all of the water in when I have to stop 1/2 hr before a meal and 1/2 hr after. You will be so glad that you are preparing now. One thing that I feel is really important after the surgery is "logging" and organization, especially if you are on a lot of medications and can only take 1 pill per hour. This is a wonderful decision and you will be thankful for the rest of your life that you made it. Good luck!
