No worries!! Everything is going along fine. I have 4 more pounds to go but I keep floating up and down. This week i have been hitting it hard in hopes of losing it by next week when I have a day off to go weigh-in. I am very much hoping I can get it scheduled for September

I just read through your blog as I am still in the pre-sleeve stages and found it super helpful! I was assigned Dr. Alvarez at the Fresno Kaiser and have my first meeting with him on Monday (so excited to get my goal weight)! I have already been cleared but mental health and the nutritionist so I am well on my way

I can't wait to be able to say the same thing, that my surgery was a year ago. Wow that must be a great feeling! I can't imagine eating a few ozs and feeling full among many other things. July 28, 2014 is going to be my new bday!

You look great! Congrats on your success. I live near Modesto and lived in Fresno for a couple years about 15 years ago. Are you at goal and how is that going. I also am a low BMI member ( my BMI was 29). I had surgery 7-25-13. Reached my personal goal at around 4 months and have been maintaining about 5 lbs below that thru the holidays. Hope your new year is filled with much success.

Your blog is great. Really keeps me thinking. I am 11 days post op and still having trouble getting vitamins and protein in so I feel very lethargic. But listening to you gives me great positive thinking. Thanks!!

Hi! Just saw your post from a long time ago saying about you were unsure and you changed opinions day to day, even hour to hour. I'm at that place right now, how did you finally work through your doubts? Looking for guidance....

You are looking great. I am being Sleeved on Wed. the 30th. How important was protein drinks to you? Are you still using them. I know that protein is the key. Was it for you?

Hey, I just added you as a friend. My hubby and I also ended up back together after a brief teenage fling...20 years later and failed relationships with other people, we are married with a 2 year old son, who is the perfect mixture of us both! I found your latest post inspirational. And very positive! Just what I need. My surgery is the 31st. I am very sure of it and very excited
  13. Are you putting the protein powder in too hot water? I did that. I got a cup of hot water from Starbucks, added my chicken broth powder, and clumpity clump, yuk. I think the label says not to use water over 140 degrees.

Don't worry I am not about to do something silly! :-) I am in week 2 now and next week will be week 3. I am tired of sickly protein drinks i am more of a savoury chicken broth person but my protein powder clumps no matter how careful i am adding it to the broth.
I haven't felt great today everything I have drank has upset my stomach ..then I realised I forgot to take my antacid pills d'oh silly me that might have been the difference all day!
    Thanks for writing Hev :-)

Where did the time go?

by rn2babes on 11-22-2015 at 06:43 PM
I'm here, nearly 2 1/2 years after my sleeve, and couldn't be happier. I've had a fantastic experience without complications. My weight has been virtually unchanged for over a year now. 144-146. I eat what I want, but still pay close attention to quantity and how my body feels.

My exercise habits aren't so good these days. I have a many excuses, and they're valid, but I could do more.

I think I finally am over the fat tapes in my mind. I'm a thin person. I can bend

One year plus 19 days, late again.

by rn2babes on 06-16-2014 at 03:14 PM
May 28th, 2013, what a lifetime ago!

I remember so well, my daily obsession with this website. I was on here daily (more than once daily) gathering information, reading blogs, profiles, asking questions, for months before my surgery. My thought was that I'd just keep getting information even though I wasn't sure I'd follow through with having surgery. But I figured, when I knew, I'd know. And at least I'd have the information I needed to make a good decision. It was a good plan.

I have lost track of time, and that must be a good thing

by rn2babes on 01-19-2014 at 03:33 AM
I'm just shy of 8 months post-op. Somehow, I forgot to blog at the ever important 6 month mark, then month 7 (Christmas is to blame) just blasted by.

I've just come from a big 60th birthday party for a very dear co-worker. I had to go shopping because up to now, I've only bought a few pair of jeans, and some tops. I need a party outfit. My friend recommended White House/Black Market. I have never bought anything for myself in that store; for my daughter, yes, but I can't wear clothes

5 months, an amazing journey.

by rn2babes on 10-28-2013 at 02:08 PM
Today marks 5 months since my sleeve surgery.

I spent the last 4 days in Disneyland with my husband and our 3 year old granddaughter. We had a fabulous time! Some things that really stood out to me. First of all, on the first few rides, as I was getting on the ride I had that thought "oh, I hate how tight these rides feel", but then I sat down, had the bar pulled down, and tada!, no tightness! In fact, we took our granddaughter on the kiddie rides, and I was so excited

4 months today!

by rn2babes on 09-28-2013 at 10:52 PM
I can't imagine how I let myself be nearly 60 lbs heavier than I am right now. As of this morning, I'm down 59 lbs from the beginning of this journey (49 since surgery, 10 before). I feel great.

My husband and I went with another couple on vacation; have only been back 6 days. We drove from Fresno to Phoenix, to Mexico, back to Phoenix, to Sedona, to the Grand Canyon, to Vegas, back home. All over 10 days. It was amzing. Aside from the obvious greatness of the vacation, here are
