Nothing much. Just cleaning the house and getting the kids ready to go back to school on 1/2/13.

Everything that you are feeling is normal. I also had some buyer remorse in the beginning. Please remember to take your pain meds, walk, walk, walk, and sip on your fluids. I also thought I was crazy post-op,because I was in alot of pain and suffering from nausea. There's alot of people on here that say that they had no pain. I'm not sure you they didn't have pain? Or are they not being truthful? But it does get better with time and you start to heal. Congrats and feel better! How long are you taking off from work/school?
  6. Thanks you guys are Awesome!!!

My pre-op diet consisted of two protein shakes, a small piece of fruit or unsweetened applesauce, 1/2 of veggies, 3 oz of meat( chicken breast, turkey beast, or any type of white fish), lowfat yogurt, and sugar-free popsickle. I had to do it for three weeks and then two days before surgery----clear liquid diet. I initially like injury, eas, and muscle milk protein shakes but after surgery I had a hard time stomaching them. I did found premier protein shakes, they are 30 gms of protein, loaded with vitamins and taste pretty good. You can buy them from sams club or costco.

I'm doing ok. Its a balancing act right with food, protein intake, and liquids. Sometimes I feel like eating and other times I just can't.I still have bouts of nauseabut the zofran and phernagan is my life saver. Are you ready for the holidays?

Right in front of my face

by lilricanliz on 01-04-2013 at 10:57 PM
So I have to say that I am 7 days post op and feeling awesome. I don't even feel as if I had surgery 7 days ago. That is positive right??? Well the downside is that today I feel as if I relapsed on my diet. I'm supposed to be going to puree's in about two days and really excited to eat (somewhat) real food again. The only thing is that i have been letting myself down with the food I'm eating. Today my dad decided that he wanted Chinese. Usually on a Friday my mom and I eat Chinese because I'm craving

My new normal

by lilricanliz on 12-30-2012 at 10:16 AM
So its been a few days since surgery and well let me share some of my experiences. The hospital stay and the nurses were excellent. If you have to be in the hospital then these ladies do make the stay worth it. The morning of surgery was pretty simple. Went in, they took all my vitals and explained everything to me step by step. There were a couple of things I didn't expect afterwards like the drain they put in or all the medication that follows. Plus they put these things on my legs so I wouldn't

Countdown/ Thank you / Questions???

by lilricanliz on 12-09-2012 at 12:49 AM
I have been posting on this website for about a month now and can honestly say that it has helped ease the anxiety about surgery. I talk about it here more than I do most of my friends. With that being said I have a couple of questions for those who have done their liquid diets. What have you guys found to be the most effective protein shake when on your diet. I've tried muscle milk and don't really like it and it doesnt keep me very full. I decided to try the special k protein shakes and wondering

neutral feelings

by lilricanliz on 11-30-2012 at 10:30 PM
I'm feeling excitement yet nervous over my upcoming surgery on 12/27/12. I have 27 days to change my mind. I'm in one of those stages of denial. I am on this website about once a week and see all these stories and I wonder... Is this the right surgery? Am I making the right decision? Do I hate my body by going through this? This was a lot of work getting to this point where my surgery is actually scheduled. There was nutrition appointment, psych evals, trying to lose weight before pre op, and it
