Doing ok. Sore ears! They are sore and numb at the same time~its weird. Got pulled out of line at airport and got my head and neck patted down cuz of the mysterious scarf :-)
But, they were very nice about it and asked me questions about the surgery! Anxious to get home!

  9. Laffy I do have a number for Melissa at weightlossagents if you want or need it let me know will message it to you.
  10. I have really good aftercare with my doctor am very thankful he would see me after leaving the country for sugery, but he has been very supportive!
I too have followed instructions to a t I don't want to screw up anything. I am very thankful that I was able to get this surgery done and to be able to start a new healhier life! Not something I would have been able to afford in the states because of their high costs..So it is not that I am ungrateful and it is not that I am bashing Almanza it is me telling people I didn't have the same wonderful experience that many of you did have. Would I do Mexico again for surgery? You bet I would in a heartbeat I just would not do it at that clinic or any other clinic for that matter I would go to a hospital.
Thank you again for the message Island Girl I appreciate it. God Bless and Happy New Year!
  11. Hi Island Girl,
Thank you for your message, I have not one complaint about Dr. Almanza at all never have think he is a good surgeon and knows what he is doing. What I had an issue with was being moved twice the day of my surgery. From the surgery clinic just a few hours after surgery a nurse came in and said get up we are moving you I asked where she said other clinic I asked why and she told me to go. So grabbed my IV no shoes in my gown and trapsed through the waiting room where about 16 ppl were sitting. They moved me to another clinic in the same shopping center the surgery clinic is in. I got in the clinic and climbed in bed was pretty pleased with the bed because the head and knees moved. I was there for a few hours and a nurse came in told me to get ready they were taking me to the hotel. 2nd time on surgery day was loaded in the van with crappy shocks and taken across to the hotel. I believe my recovery would have been much easier if I would have been left to rest and get my needed fluids in. You know this is my experience and I really do feel like I have every right to share my experience good or bad without being crucified by anyone

Joanne1958...I have been reading your posts and I am also a former patient of Dr. Almanza. You have created quite a stir Quick question...did you line up aftercare with your physician at home?

Going to Mexico for surgery has the same risks of surgery in the U.S. and is a not for everyone. I highly recommend Dr. Almanza and am thankful for the affordable option since my insureance would not cover the surgery. I am also thankful my U.S. doctor was open to providing aftercare. He removed my stitches and has done blood work regularly to ensure I am okay. My vitamen D level was low once--but that is all. I followed the Almanza's aftercare instructions to a T.

So, not getting to rest 24 hours...are you referring to moving from the clinic to the recovery house or hotel? Minor issue...plus you should be up an moving around to lessen the gas and avoid blood clots. I got plenty of sleep after I left the clinic and was able to ease off the pain killer in two days.

Enjoy your new life path and the blessings losing weight brings. Happy New Year!
  13. Sorry for the duplicate
  14. Nicole,
Thank you so much, it has been a trip let me tell you have encountered people like her before and I find that they are so miserable in their own lives they can't be anything but ugly to other people. I do feel sorry for her. I have not bashed Almanza and won't think he is a good surgeon and some of the nurses are outstanding. But to do so many surgeries that you can't let your patients rest for even 24hrs after surgery is not a good thing, that is all I ever said and for that reason I would not recommend people go there.
Thank you for your support and friendship you have been so helpful to me! Your very special!!

Veggie Burgers!!

by Joanne1958 on 01-13-2013 at 10:00 PM
Hi,
I just wanted to share with you that I tried a piece Morning Star Veggie Burger
tonight and it was yummy!!!! I didn't have to load it up with condiments just ate it and it tastes like hamburger and has 17grams of protien in it too. So one of those, a protien shake and protien bar and I have 40+ grams of protien in. My hair is getting thin so needed to find some way to get my protien in! I use the unflavored protien too but just can't get enough of that in!

Gas Accidents???

by Joanne1958 on 11-22-2012 at 12:08 AM
Ok I have read in a few different blogs that you have uncontrollable gas and poop accidents. Is this true and how long does it last?
Lord have Mercy how embarassing. I would just die if I passed gas in front of strangers and pooped my pants on top of that. Why on earth would this be a problem if they aren't resecting anything?
Please tell me this just isn't so!
Thank you!
