Hi Jnell, I haven't been on this site in ages, but I was looking through some old threads and thought I would see how you are doing? I also wanted to share with you a FB page I set up that is following my journey to putting my fibromyalgia into remission. The fibro is the main motivator for me getting this surgery and the weight loss is a wonderful side effect, however I have not hit my goal weight and the pain is relentless. I have started on a new journey and I thought you might be interested to follow it. My FB page is called, Healthy with Fibro, and it will be a page geared toward healthy ways to deal with fibro causes of fibro and things that I am trying to get healthy. Hope to see you there.

Thank you so much! Everything went well ...and I finally feel like I'm back amongst the living!
  3. ALSO, do you attend any follup support groups.....
  4. LOL,LOL TRU-DAT! My Dr., Dr. Legett has YET to send me a request for BLOODWORK and a followup appt and I will be 60days out on jan5th. do you think this is normal? I just question how in the world am I suppose to know if everything is ok, if I am doing the right thing and are some of these things I feel are normal, or not? I realize the Dr. is only as competent as his office staff....that being said, I think I'm in trouble.

Well I doubt dr turnquest would 0bject. What's up with your DR? SOme surgeons have terrible people skills. Think about it they cut us open as if it is normal.

I have to admit, wendylittle (on here) told me she did that and suggested I do it....so I did. lol Just wearing it around, without working out makes you sweat. I guess when I do when working out, I will be properly drenched!

Well... I'm sorry to hear about these crappy problems you're facing these days. No problem, whine anytime you like. I'll listen. I am sure it will barely be a memory next year. I think you're right, something is better than nothing. I don't get enough water either...but I try. I do miss eating, but I mostly hate that I can't eat 'fast' and I can't each MUCH. I wore a sauna suit that I picked up at Walmart for $9 today. I was only doing some sorting in my room and 'de-cluttering'. I was sweating...not too heavily though. I don't think I will wear it when I do exercise, so I don't get dehydrated. So I guess I'll wear it every other day and exercise on the other days in between. lol. I'm glad I made your day better. ttyl!

Hi! How are ya? I'm stuck at ***-222 for the last two weeks now. So annoying. I don't know if you've hit any stalls yet or not, but I'm sure I'll have to start exercising now, lol. I haven't even been doing the proper amount of walking that I should be doing. I also know that I eat too many carbs and fats. I am trying to achieve all the protein, but then that causes me to get the fats and carbs... sheesh.

  13. Hi there Jazzie! How did your support group meeting go? I haven't joined one yet tho' I know I need to. I am such a procrastinator. Being so overweight ,sometimes it was just easier to put things off than to do them. i am working on telling myself "just do it!". i hope it works. i suppose, i am doing alright with my eating. I HAVE found that if I put off eating until I am hungry, It doesn't go down well. i do better if i just pace myself and eat when it is about time to eat instead waiting to get hungry . I seem to be doing ok in the water dept. started drinking a little gatorade just to be safe.I still don't get enough protein, and that botheres me but I don't know what else to do. I eat fish ,chicken, turkey, eggs etc, etc, and sprinkle cheese on everything. of course I do yogurt and cottage cheese as well. Energy seems to be getting better, but doesn't hang around for long. Overall, i suppose I am progressing. I hope you are doing well and I can't wait to hear from you again and be updated on ur progress! You are the only person that I chat w/on here and I really look forward to hearing from you. Stay strong, positive, and focus on the big picture 'till next time....SQUEEEEEEEZES!!!!

Hi Jnell, Not the best picture of me, but you get the idea! LOL Yeah I am struggling with the water and protein intake as well. The fluids are getting a little easier. I have not really started major food. It seems like I do two 25 gram protein shakes a day and then I get the rest of my protein from yogurt and cottage cheese. I do eat a cream soup occasionally and managed some mashed potatoes, but they felt heavy in my stomach. YES!!! I feel like I think about food all day and how I am going to get everything I need in, as well as my vitamins too. I have my first support group on Wednesday and I have many questions for them! I am not too emotional and glad that I am not hungry. Just worried that I am not venturing out to new foods! LOL There just doesn't seem to be anything else I want at this stage. Maybe when I can get off the pureed or soft foods that will change! You are doing great and I just want you to hang in there. I am just a text away if you need to talk! Big Hugs!!! Take care and stay in touch!

My doctor said have what I can tolerate, its nourishment at this stage so I am still doing that..I have the biscuit called cruskit it melts basically to nothing when you chew it and I have that with anything I like cottage cheese, spreads and vegemite I am from Australia, we love our vegemite. I am an older sleever too I am 57 even though I never got any gas pain or much pain and incisions healed very well getting food down due to scar tissue has been a real problem. I have cried buckets, vomited heaps still do but things are getting better. I think seeing a therapist is a good idea I see one and although he doesnt understand the sleeve too well he gives me great support. It is frustrating finding food when you are out, friends say there is soup but over here in the heat who wants soup. Also find ordering meals and only having a few bites such a waste. I think given time things will improve for us both Yesterday I had an egg, slice of bacon and small amount of bake beans for breaky, lunch had 4 marinated pieces of chicken wings with potato salad and a bowl of cherries later in the day and an icecream for dinner, which for me was so much food, yesterday was a good day, yet other days barely get a biscuit down.I hope things pick up for you give it time I am sure as the swelling subsides you will feel better. Send me a message anytime if you want to chat would love to hear from you take care and hugs for you

I researched the hell out of the surgery before I did it and had a six month waiting period with visits to a dozen drs to get clearance. I was not really prepared for the reality
