Hello Tharris. How did your surgery go? Hope you are OK. I just read your message about the lazy stomach. Mine has seemed to be slowely correcting itself. I had my partial surgery done in Dec 2011. I only had about 25 lbs to lose but I needed to get my sugar under control. I had the upper right part of my stomach removed and it worked miricales. I went from A1C of 11.7 to 5.7 . The last time I stepped on the scales I was 159. Before surgery 185 and gaining. Good luck in your recovery and write when you feel up to it.
  3. Hello Phoenixrise! Thank you for the words of encouragement! Congratulations on your continuing weight loss! I also do not have a set weight in mind. I think as I approach a weight I can be happy at I will know it. Medical professionals all want me at 125lbs. but I weighed that at 16 years old before I had my first child! Anyway, like you my goal is to be healthier and feel better. Never was a bikini sort I will just be happy to shop for "normal" size clothes! LOL
Thank you for your post & I hope you have a wonderful weekend & are successful on your endeavor!

Welcome to the forum Terra, I think if you read peoples blogs you will find out more about what people expect and how they feel about getting the surgery done. I know everyone tries to be as detailed as possible so they can help others like yourself understand where they are coming from. I know I myself have a blog and most people have photos on their blog too. As for myself I want to be healthy and just feel better about life in general. I find myself feeling that way each time I NOW look in the mirror, I see the weight shedding and it is such a great feeling to know I am closer to being where I want to be. My ultimate goal is a bikini lol. I don't have a set goal weight or BMI. I thought I did but everyone of us our bodies are so different and we won't know until we get close to where our bodies want us to be and we are happy there. I say I have 82 pounds to go but I feel It is a lot less than that. It is a great feeling and I am feeling better about me. IT IS A GREAT INVESTMENT IN YOURSELF.

One more week till my surgery!

by tharris5468 on 01-11-2013 at 11:54 AM
So I'm finally feeling better and my surgery is January 18th! I can hardly wait!
I have had to postpone surgery twice now due to illness and have been on the two-week diet since December 13th. I am beginning to hate the diet but I am trying to keep a positive attitude and count down the days! My family & friends are supportive and I love them for that! I just want to have the surgery so I can continue on the road to a healthier me! I keep trying to talk my hubby into having surgery
