  1. I can say I haven't had one day that I regret the decision to have the surgery....well except when I see the bills that KEEP coming in from the surgery. Then I go (HEADSLAP!) "REALLY????" But I figure by the time I am so poor I have to eat cat/dog food, at least I will be able to eat 1 can every 2 or 3 days....(That's my sick dark sense of humor!!!). SO far, NO REGRETS! I can't tell whether the surgery or all the personal stuff is messing with my emotions, it could be a little bit of both at this time. I can't turn to food for support so I have to make it through using my wits and coping mechanisms. I hope your regrets turns around and you start to look forward to the new life to come. Personally, I can't wait to loose all the weight and feel good about myself and the way I look. I have spent so much time feeling bad about it, and I feel I wasted it. Get back to me if you'd like.....Perhaps this is "more" of an answer than you had wanted, but it's what my experience has been. I wish the weight were coming off quicker, but as soon as all this "other stuff" is resolved, there is an app called C25K (Couch to 5K) which is supposed to get your from sedentary to 5K in 30-60 days. BRING. IT. ON! I'm ready!!! CHEERS!!! Let me know if I can help you in some other way......
  2. I don't regret it as long I remember "don't eat that last bite dude!!! DON'T! DO! IT!" otherwise I'm rolling around on the bed trying to get the food to move and so I can burp and stop hurting! I get it right most of the time, but every once in a while I do something stupid. Slowing down has truly been the hardest part for me. I have ALWAYS been a fast eater, and I have worked in industries that didn't promote healthy amounts of time for eating meals....ie, food service, waiting tables, bar tending, and worst of all.....the medical field. Everyone, EVERY-ONE in the medical field is a fast eater because, you don't know a) if you are going to get to eat and b) when you will get to eat, and c) when you might get called away from what you are eating. So we all get into this terrible habits of eating fast. I'm down by about 41 lbs at this point, but I guess I could/should be further along, but my father has been dealing with a terminal illness and having to provide his with care and cut into "me time" (I am not begrudging him ANY OF THAT TIME!!! but it has been tricky trying to balance work, exercise, diet, and caring for a sick and dying family member!)

Hi, we had surgery on the same date. Just wondering how you are going. Some days I regret it. I'm trying to think about the long term.

Fraiser's theme song.

by Alan H on 10-01-2012 at 04:11 PM
I know that in the opening to the show Fraiser signs about "Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs". Well I got my scrambled egg (singular) today!!! WOO HOO!! I just got advanced to a soft diet today. It almost seems weird to not eat something that had been pureed into a paste and then thinned down. I also never thought ONE little (and it was a little egg too from my sister's chickens) egg could be so filling. I was honestly completely full after eating just that one egg. It seemed very weird
