Hi! The gas pain has gotten better. I'm taking Pepcid AC twice a day. Yesterday I felt tired, and today I felt completely tired-like can't get off the sofa tired and I started with some bowel issues. Not sure if it's the full liquid diet or a stomach bug. Getting hungry...

Hey Shannon! I haven't been on here in a while and wanted to check in with you. I was on here all the time before my surgery soaking up information, then for support afterwards. Now, my life is just 'normal' for the most part. Your surgery is coming up soon!! I am really happy for you and I am sure you are going to have a great experience with Dr. Joya and his team. I'm sending good thoughts your way, and let me know how it goes.

I know the feeling about the what ifs...I'm a nurse so I know how things should be and I have 5 kids.

The only semi negative thing I've heard about Dr. Joya is that his English isn't as good as some other doctors. I believe we have picked a great doctor who actually works in a real hospital, which I believe is very important.

I'm in Kansas, thank goodness for Internet! I am looking forward to recovering poolside and Oceanside though!!! ;-)

Hi Shannon!

I'm more excited than nervous, but am sure that will flip more than once between now and November 14th! I talked to with a former patient of Dr. Joya and she didn't have one negative thing to say about her experience. She said Dr. Joya was wonderful, the nurses were attentive and she always felt safe. She said she even went shopping the day she got out of the hospital.

Let's stay in touch and talk about how we're feeling, what were doing to get ready, and cheer each other along!

Thanks for your comments. I'm excited for you too! You are going to have the most AMAZING year & journey ahead of you too! Just think how great you are going to feel come New Years eve 2012! You'll have 6 weeks behind you and you'll be feeling more comfortable and adjusted to your new stomach! Do all the things the Doctor tells you and how to eat & walk/exercise and use some wisdom from this site to help you find what works for you and make your weight loss easier & long term! What a powerful combo!!! This next month will seem s-l-o-w but keep learning and working with your thoughts & set yourself up for lots of success!
