    Hi Keshia,
I am struggle to keep up with my fluids. Every time I drink any type of fluids( protein shake/ water/ etc) I get this severe gas pain in my lower Stomach area near my intestines. So...painful!
I totally get feeling week. I'm been needing naps during the day and just to keep myself warm. My hands and feet are so cold. Keshia, I think you have good plans to keep you on your journey. Let me know what the nutritionist tells you to do different.
  2. Minnni~ I think I have stalled. I started food last week maybe to early but I was feeling so week. The food has def helped, but now I feel like because I have started on solids my weight has slowed down. I know I am not getting enough calories in. I have started on my protein it finally arrived. One tablespoon gives me 30 grams so I have been only getting in one a day. My goal today is to get the second scoop in. Same with liquids a daily struggle to drink but I am slowly coming along. I asked for a referal to a nutrtionist I feel that she/he will be able to help me better get a handle on the food part. Like I see people prepping for the week and putting things in containers I really wanna to be that dedicated. I also ordered a book to help me navigate through these changes. The struggle is real!!

    Hi Keshia,
How's your eating plan been? I'm one week out and I just started adding protein shake. I'm finally up to 60 oz fluid a day. Before today, I struggle to get 20 oz Powerade. Tomorrow I thinking of getting some chicken soup from Panera and blending the ingredients in my blender. Let's see if I could get little more calories in.
  4. Hey Minni~ That is so great! I told you it would all be well! I am so happy to hear that you are doing well and coming along great like the super star you are!!!

    Hi Keshia,
I went to my PCP today and she was super supportive. She thought I did a great preventive measure and she was happy with the results. She took 2 of my stitches out and told me to return on Thursday to take rest of it out.

Thanks Keshia! I had my surgery on the 25 th, and flying back home.
I'm not in too much pain and flight is not too bad. I will make an appointment with my pcp and let her know.
    Thanks again.

I have so enjoyed yor blog. It has helped me prepare for the 6th of April. I will look forward to your 2 wk update. Take care
  8. MUFASA- You are so very welcome. I posted it just for that reason. I wanted people to read about my daily activities so that they would not be scared or worried. I am going to do a 2 week out blog in a few days to catch everyone up on my progress. I have a few tricks that I have found to work. My incisions are gone now I will also talk about that whole experience.... Thanks again!!
  9. Hi Minnni- I had my follow up today with my PCP. I did tell my PCP at my annual which was a little over a week before I left for Mexico that I was going to have my surgery in Mexico; of course she was not thrilled but she stated it was my decision and gave me a referral to a Bariatric Surgeon for follow up.

Today my PCP just followed up from the annual visit, she looked at my incisions, and wanted to do another round of blood work just to make sure everything returned to normal after surgery. I would say yes, make a follow up definatly have that conversation with your PCP.

As for me I am doing very well I am starting on some solid foods. The restriction in my throat has been killing me like I take a few swallows and then it feels like it was getting stuck and the heartburn was the worst even from water.... I could not even tell if I was full or not in my stomach. I went and got some Pepcid AC from the store and it has SAVED MY LIFE!! OMG so glad I bought that. My PCP said that I can take 2 a day!!

    Keshia,
How are you doing? Have you been to your PCP? I have not told my PCP yet and wondering if I should make an appointment for a follow up appointment. I usually just go once a year for my annual ...
  12. Catlover no they don't supply them. They do wrap your legs before surgery. I knew to buy them from experience. My flight was 5 hours so I just thought I rather be safe than sorry. Any medical supply Stores sells them also amazon I have even seen them in CVS by Dr Schrolls. Yes they do come in different styles to the knee over the knee.
  13. Compression stockings. Are these ones that go to the knees? Did you know to take these with you, or do they supply them there??
So glad everyday is getting better for you. You are really kicking butt with losing the weight and getting on your feet. Good job!!

Thank you for the advice. Definitely walking off that gas.
  15. MUFASA they do not dissolve you will have to have them removed between 10 - 14 days. The stitches that had the port will need more care at least for me. That is the one that I give more attention to. The others are fine and look to be removed on time the port stitch will probably need more time.

by Kee77 on 04-27-2015 at 11:29 AM
I am back to give my 6 week updates and share with all my life moving forward after my Gastric Sleeve in Mexico. So Where do I start.. taking in fluids I struggle with. I am like Homer Simpson, I am a jugger, not a sipper so transforming my life into sipping has been absolutley crazy for me!

I promise you that it seems small but I just want to drink something and be done but noooo I cannot do that any more I must constantly carry around a bottle or cup and remind my self to drink

2 - 3 Week Post Op

by Kee77 on 03-27-2015 at 09:00 AM
Hey Everyone~

Sorry it has taken me so long to write my next follow up blog. I have been busy trying to get myself back into the routine of daily life but as a new sleever.

Week 2~ Where do I start... My second week post op was a little trying. I had a lot of issues with gas, my throat and swallowing. It seemed that the tightness goes and comes. It was too the point I could not tell if I was full or not. It took me longer than I thought to really get over the stuck

5 Days Post Op ~ 21 pounds down

by Kee77 on 03-17-2015 at 10:01 AM
I had surgery on last Thursday March 12th. I am doing well, everyday gets a bit easier. I am still battling gas but drinking things is so much better. So far I am down 21 pounds today. Excited.... My face looks so much smaller than before... I did return to work today, everything is going ok with that. I sit most of the day. I have to remember to get up, walk and drink; all of these things slip my mind. I have no hunger or anything like that. I plan to start back on my protien this week...also yesterday

Restarting this again 2nd time is a charm...

by Kee77 on 03-03-2015 at 10:17 AM
So I have decided to go all the way through with surgery this time. I have been scheduled for surgery on March 12th. I am now on my 10 day liquid diet again. UURGH...

This is day (2) not so bad as the last time but still challenging. I found that I LOVE Miso soup so I have that with me at all times, also flavored water (non carbonated), Jello and Protien shakes. I like the Premier ones at Costco's you get 30 grams of protien no sugar and about 150 calories. This morning I decided
