Hi. I will go to MGH and Dr, Gee for my sleeve this coming Tuesday... it was nice to read about your experience. I have found that the anticipation of pain and discomfort is often worse than the real thing, so I am keeping my mind clear and focusing on following instructions. I have a lot of confidence in Dr. Gee and the whole team has been great.

Dr. Gee is wonderful! I was fine the first night after surgery, the second day I was really nauseous and since I'm allergic to Zofran, the only thing they could give me were the patches that go behind your ears. Other than that, I did have pain for the first week. After the first week, I was great! I remember on my second day, the assistant surgeon came in to visit me and asked how I was. I told him pretty good except I was in a little pain. He laughed and said, "Of course you are. You were stabbed six times!" LOL I did start laughing because he was absolutely right. No pain, no gain! Ha Like I said, it really was the first week that I had problems, but other than that it was great.

Wonderful! I'm getting done on March 26th and was looking for other people who went through MGH with Doctor Gee. How was your experience? Sounds like it wasn't easy for you.

I am doing FANTASTIC!!! Thank you for asking. I finally started going to the gym again, I was so afraid that I would damage my new stomach by lifting weights or straining too hard, but everything went fine. I still can't get over how small my portions are and how little it takes for me to become satisfied/full. I'm so glad I went through the surgery. I was sleeved in October and I remember asking myself, "what did you do", LOL I thought I had made a huge mistake and I was in so much pain, but now, I look back and wouldn't change a thing! Absolutely one of the best decisions I've ever made!
