Sheri, I am doing so good, getting better and better each day. I love the Holidays but every year I would get a little depressed when they were over, so we just decided to stop celebrating them on Christmas, and making it be not about presents, but time spent with family and since then I have grown to love them again. I went shopping yesterday and had a blast and I tried on some clothes and looked damn good in them, I even bought myself my first "little black dress" size 14, on clearance for $30. Its a little snug, but I know in a few months it will fit fine or be too big, so I don't mind. And at that price, I can afford to only wear it once or twice!! I love my sleeve and I am so happy with it and my decision. Not a single regret. And yes, watching some people eat these days kind of grosses me out, and when I see people of size, I try not to judge, but I want so bad to run up and tell them about the surgery and then I think about how something like that out of the blue would hurt and of course I stop myself, but I am just so happy and getting so much healthier, I want the world to do it too!! Happy Holidays to you and God Bless!!

The dance class was a bust...my friend failed to sign up and once I did, the class was full. I bagged out as there was no way I was going to go by myself, I am chicken. But no worries, I didn't want to do the Oula anyway, I am way more into trying beginning Zumba. In Oula, they dance in their bare feet, and mine are so gross, I am not showing them to a room full of strangers, let alone my jiggly fat!!! I am jealous that you have no hunger, I don't know if I do or don't, I cant distinguish between real hunger or head hunger, although yesterday we switched cubicles at work and it took me until 10:00 to get all moved into mine and then had to rush and get my morning work done before my 1130 lunch, no time for breakfast or my usual snack and guess what? I lived, I didn't die, and come to think on it...I wasn't really hungry, too busy to think about food and eating, maybe that is the key, I need to stay busier. I eat some breakfast, lunch dinner and then usually a small snack in between each. I don't eat a lot and I do monitor my calories (try to keep each day under 700) but unlike you I know I could eat a hell of a lot more. Again, I am jealous it sure seems like your surgery worked exactly like it was supposed to. Good for you and I hope the weight continues to melt off and lets make a date to meet somewhere at our 6 month anniversary in January and then again on our one year, want to? Take care and write often, I love to hear about you and all your victories

Sheri, I think about you and how you are doing all the time, I am so happy for you that you no longer need your chair, that has got to feel amazing!! I have a co-worker/friend and we have decided to join a beginning OOlah class that is offered through adult continuing ed as neither of us can stand the thought of a gym, but we both want to take a class with dance. How is your eating, are you getting in all your protein and water?? I am having a hard time getting in all my fluids and I am always under in my protein, but I try my best. I am doing a couch to 5k program on my tread mill so that is about it for my exercise at the moment and that is 3 days a week. I am down 60 lbs as of yesterday and I feel so much more healthy, I am so very glad I was sleeved. Next goal is Onederland by my bff's birthday on the 15th of November. 14 lbs to go!!

A Taste for Living

by tootsibelle on 05-09-2014 at 10:41 AM
I have lost more than 270 pounds since I began this journey. August 16, 2012 my doctor weighed me in at 540 pounds. I got my surgery just under a year later and had lost 85 pounds according to the scale at Dr. Almanza's office on my way into the operating room. I have been through a lot for the past 8 months (since surgery) and also the last 17 years that got me to that huge, life-killing place.

I have to do everything possible to make sure I don't get back to that ugly, destructive

Beware of Hormones ... LOL

All I'm gonna say is... after 17 years of obesity and being locked up under a huge amount of weight and then released... that first kiss releases endorphin and dopa mine in doses that are surprisingly powerful. Beware!

The Opening

by tootsibelle on 02-08-2014 at 11:13 PM
Losing weight and getting a grip on my eating has opened my life in many ways. I was super morbidly obese, a title I hated the sound of, let alone living it. On August 16, 2012 my doctor weighed me in at 540 pounds. I could barely move. It was only months to bedridden. 'Nuff adat...

Today I am 230 pounds lighter. That's a lot lighter, let me tell ya. Really makes for some great days. Now I can go places and do things that wasn't possible before. I don't have to miss out on love or

Fianlly dancing

Six months, and I've lost more than 130 pounds.I still have more than that yet to go. Feeling great, everything's better. I'm participating again. Love it.

Before surgery I was in a power chair because I was too heavy to carry myself from place to place. My left knee had it. In losing weight, at around the 3rd month, I was able to walk with a cane, and I put the buggy out to pasture. Oh how I hated that thing. It put holes in my walls, it almost pulled my arm off when it got caught

The Long Stroll

by tootsibelle on 12-18-2013 at 10:35 PM
I'm out nearly 5 months. I had more weight to lose than most people. I've lost 116 pounds, but I've got about 190 more to go, so I'm just getting going. I have had a wonderful ride so far. It hasn't been too difficult, and that constant nagging of my brain is gone. I feel like I'm coming up from the abyss in many ways and feeling some new sparks of life.

I've been calm up until now, allowing for the new stomach, being thankful every day that I don't have to fight, having confidence
