Sending prayers your way that your surgery goes well and you have a quick recovery!

I am so bad at catching all the comments to my posts, etc. I apologize. I get confused as to where to look. lol I am very happy for you that you got a date and that all is going smoothly. I understand about not telling some of the people. I mostly don't. I think it feels safer to tell complete strangers.
  3. Well I'm on my way, this week is all my appointments before my surgery. I never thought things would fall into place so quickly. I'm so happy and excited that surgery is only 31 days away. I have not told anyone other than my husband. I don't want anyone from work to know because they only judge and don't support and my family thinks I look fine. It's not my looks, it's how I feel and what I want to do. I went back to college after 20 years and now dealing with my weight, am I just going through a mid life crisis?
  4. Amazed that my insurance company approved my surgery. Date is 11/29/12! I'm so excited and I can't wait. Scheduled for a edg, not sure what that is but I'll do some research tomorrow.
  5. Everything is in the hands of my insurance. All testing is done, psych appointment is done and now waiting on approval. I was told 2 to 3 weeks for an answer? Hoping for 2 weeks. Would like to be scheduled by Christmas.

Update! It's been awhile.

by seeingisbelieving on 02-05-2013 at 08:40 PM
Surgery was 11/29/12 and everything went smoothly. I'm down about 50 pounds and I haven't done much with excercising. I don't have time between school, work and family. I found that if I park further way from the door, take the stairs and walk during break and lunch, I'm doing more than before. It's not much but it's a start. I can't tell you how exciting it is to put a clothes that are too big now or the compliments on how I look. Sure I'm no where near my goal but I'm at my goal that I set.

Sleeved 11/29

by seeingisbelieving on 12-01-2012 at 03:56 AM
It' was a tough first day but since I've been home, I feel 100% better. I'll be honest I had a few regrets but the pain is going away and I'm learning when and how much to eat. I lost 25 pounds in the pre op diet. Can't wait for my appointment next week to see where I'm at now. I didn't buy a scale, I don't think I could take the pressure.

Good luck everyone! I appreciate all the support, you are a great group!

One bite..

by seeingisbelieving on 11-25-2012 at 04:09 PM
Although the process happened quickly for me, it's hard to believe 4 days from now, I'll be sleeved. I struggled a bit with the pre op diet, nothing major a bite here or there. I find the challenge is cooking dinner for the family. Proud that I don't need a plate of food, one bite and I'm able to walk away. Promised myself that no more one bites, so far so good today. My wonderful husband is making dinner tonight and I'm going for a walk while they eat. That's one way I can fight the temptation.

Success with the pre op diet

by seeingisbelieving on 11-17-2012 at 09:16 AM
Three days into the pre-op and I lost 7.8 pounds! I found that I can't eat broth, hate the taste and the after taste it leaves. It's fine for now to skip it but what will I do when I'm on clear liquids only. Started increasing my workout and I'm feeling good. 13 days until I'm sleeved! Best Christmas gift I could give myself. Good luck to everyone on their journey!
