Thanks for your lovely message ... Maybe I should exchange the word nervousness for excitement ...but I am nervous. If you read my morning blog you will see I have got myself in a right panic over my protein shakes. But all is fine ... Just last minute nerves...and beating myself up for failing to keep my weight off. Thank you for being an inspiration please do keep in touch..

Thank you for sharing your journey n here for us all to read. . I am about to have my surgery in 5 days and I am between a 18 and 20W so your journey is very encouraging for me. I have a tread mill I did an hour walking today and even tho I was tired I got into a rhythm and just carried on walking until I was thirsty. Tell me what is kettle ball? Have you toned all your skin or will you have to have some removed? Hope you don't mind me asking. Post some before and after pictures I would love to see you now. I notice you are in Tennessee ...I am British and i live just across the mountain in western North Carolina. I am having my surgery at the university of Tennessee hospital with Greg Mancini this coming Monday. Am a little nervous but I like my surgeon he's a teaching professor so he must be good.
    Keep in touch Hev

Ok...the 5 day pouch test is over. Ready to move forward with the right frame of mind!

Today's weigh in: 118.8 (down a total of 3 lbs since Monday morning)

I'm really happy with that!! I have 3 pounds to go till I hit my ultimate goal. I want to lose those last 3 pounds this month. I'll let you all know how it goes!

Have a great weekend!

Day 5 - 5 day pouch test

by avit1980 on 06-13-2014 at 07:48 AM
Well here it is....day 5 already! It's been a great week. Yesterday was good...no issues at all. I was a little disappointed getting on the scale this morning - it showed the same as yesterday morning. I was hoping for a little loss, but no biggie...I'm still really happy with the loss so far this week.

Now that I am almost done with the pouch test, I am creating my shopping list for this weekend. My head is in the game and I'm ready to roll - I WILL hit my goal weight!! I'm

Day 4 - 5 day pouch test

by avit1980 on 06-12-2014 at 08:20 AM
Well this 5 days is on its downhill slide. I must say, it's been pretty great, and eye opening! I realize now how lax I'd become in what/when I'd eat, and how out of control I felt. I HATE that feeling...I remember it well from before surgery and I felt it coming back the last few months. Well not anymore!! I am pleased to say that this 5 day pouch test has definitely worked for me. I am no longer craving carbs...I am now in control of what and when I eat. I feel in charge again, and that's

Day 3 - 5 day pouch test

by avit1980 on 06-11-2014 at 08:21 AM
Day 3....liquids are over!! Yay!! That's what I woke up saying this morning. lol. Yesterday really went pretty well. I did fine all day, but my night-time pudding didn't satisfy me. I ended up having a small spoonful of peanut butter and that took care of it. At least I know now that I CAN do the 2 days of liquids...it'll be easier the next time I do this. So today...onto soft protein!

I know this might sound crazy, but I really do think those 2 days of liquids tightened my

Day 2 - 5 day pouch test

by avit1980 on 06-10-2014 at 08:35 AM
Well, I survived day 1! lol. Actually, it really wasn't too bad and I know I'll make it through today just as well. Biggest take aways from the liquid phase: I get really sick of sweet stuff. The next time I do this, I need to factor in more soups and things a little less sweet. The hardest time for me yesterday was mid-evening, around 7:00. It wasn't time for my evening pudding, so I got a glass of milk instead. That satisfied the need for 'something,' and got me some extra protein to boot.
