I'm sorry that I haven't responded sooner, but I've just gotten on here to get my messages. He was terrific and I'm giving a presentation tomorrow evening at support group if you're going to be there. It's been two years and I would do it again in a heart-beat! I had an easy recovery and was SO excited to start the journey...I hope that your experience is just a terrific!!!

How are you? Did you have the surgery? I didn't have a tremendous amount of pain with my surgery. Good luck!

Dr Schweitzer was very professional and is revered by the Hopkin's staff. I know at least 4 nurses told me I chose the best surgeon out of my options WITHOUT me asking for their opinion. The director told me that he was the one who started the Sleeve program in the first place - I'm not sure if that's true or not and I haven't had a chance to research it but it is John's Hopkins and they are known for their research. Do you have a date yet?

    Hi,
I was very pleased with the hospital stay. All of the staff were friendly and professional. My surgeon was Dr Liao. He IMP is very good. His staff is friendly and very helpful. He even has a way that I only had to pay a co-pay for the nutritional classes through his office. (Bayview was completely self-pay for the supervised visits.) He is very supportive of the sleeve. My surgery went very well. The only pain I had was from the large incision (where the stomach is removed) and that disappeared about 6 days out as the inner stitch disintegrated.

Follow the instructional guide on eating post-op. If when you get the next stage of foods you're not handling it well...hold off a day and try again. Be kind to your body, before you know it you'll feel "normal" again. Don't rush getting through the stages. Make sure you maintain portion control, you will uncomfortable and possibly vomit if you don't. I really enjoying going to support group and find it helps because there people ahead of where I am and I can learn from them.

No my life actually isn't normal at all. My sleeve was very very small so I can only eat maybe 1/8 cup at a time. But routine is the key, being ok with this small tummy is ok, eating all day long is ok, never enjoying eating meat, bread is ok. I don't hurt or I'm not uncomfortable if I make sure to eat small amounts and make sure to drink protein. But I decided with all these things I would love my life because I gained SEXINESS, confidence, health, endurance, and I got my life back. Yes, it's a little well A LOT different but I say everyday I GOT THIS. Cause I do. This little tummy prevents me from ever gaining my weight back. You my friend have this. Keep your head up. What is the biggest thing you struggle with? I don't drink but I guess I never heard if it's ok or not. I would think it would be fine in moderation? Maybe ask your doc. I wish you well and I hope you can love This choice you made!!

I suggest Rachel Ray beef broth; it's very soothing when warmed in the microwave. Also, Propel Zero water helped when I would get tired of just plain water. I also had a few cans of chicken noodle soup and drained the broth off for myself then gave the noodles to my husband to eat.

If you are on your own Profile page, I think you should be able to click on "Find all posts" on the left pane of your profile (just under your pic). That should let you see everything you've posted.

I also am pretty inexperienced with this new technology. I became a member this week after surgery on 10/9/12. I am never sure where to look for responses. I have entered several new post but usually it's by accident that I landed where I did. However this is a fantastic site and group of supporters so I will keep trying to figure it out. Perhaps someone could write up a Guide in baby steps with definitions on exactly how everything on the site works!
