Yea that would be awesome! If you just call the Iowa Health Weightloss clinic on Westown Pkwy Todd does them there a few days a week and you can set up the appointment that way. Make sure to do that almost immediately because when I called he was booked up for almost 3 months.

Also, all of Iowa Health support groups are the 1st Saturday of the month from 10-noon. This next month is small groups so I am not sure what they will be doing but I will probably be going to this one too. In order to get credit you have to be there for the entire thing and I was late last time. (oops) so I will be going to one more for sure before surgery and then probably try and go to as many as possible after. They are very helpful and they have different protiens to sample there as well.

We need to hit up Max Muscle and GNC for some protien drinks. Last week they had guys from Max Muscle bring in some samples and they were pretty good. He said to come to their store and we can test whatever before buying Another cool thing is if you have facebook, I just added the Iowa Health Weightloss and they are always posting stuff on there.

Hi Jen! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you I have been sooo busy! That is awesome that you are in Des Moines! I am having surgery with LaMasters and am planning on sometime either the end of February or beginning of March. I have my Master's comprehensive exam in February so I want to get that done first. I went to my first support group this past weekend and got there about 30 minutes late because of the commute so it didn't count for the insurance which is fine I will just go to another one! I just had my psych evaluation this morning with Todd Jenkins (psycologist who is recommended through Iowa Health) and it wasn't bad at all. He's a very nice guy! So far I love every one I have been working with. Janelle is awesome!! She is the nutritionist I am sure you have met with her. I go for my 3rd doctors appointmet this month. Three more to go after that and it will be time for the big day already! Hard to believe.

How far along in the process are you? This will be nice having someone in the area incase we ever want to meet up and go "protien testing" haha Also it will be nice that we will be so close in surgery dates that we can see how each other is doing and learn any tips from each other! I need to start finding some protien drinks that I like!

Jen, I haven't yet done my psych eval yet. My insurance makes me wait 6 months no matter what. Initially this upset me. I just wanted to get it done & get on with my recovery from obesity. However now I appreciate this part of the journey. Learning how to eat for a successful sleeved life. This forum is also giving me a wonderful chance to get educated on what to buy & what to expect. I have been "fat" for a great deal of my life & have been obese for the last 10-12 years. Hopefully I find out about my psych eval in my 4thmonth visit on the 13th.

Yay! So glad to find someone in the same spot! My regular dr keeps urging me to get the psych evaluation done he thinks insurance would let me have surgery early but with the holidays coming I'd just prefer to hold off until first of the year! Have you done your psych eval yet? Where are you located?!

We are in exactly the same insurance spot. My visit in 2 weeks will be my 4th month visit welcome to the forum. This is so amazing I have learned so much from others of what to do & expect.
