HI...can you tell me what is it like 7 months out? I imagine that I will not eat "normal"...I really need to know I can have a meal, and feel like I fit in...but at the same time, have the tool and manage my new life style. I don't want to fell like a an emotional freak who nibbles and never sits with others and enjoys food in a healthy way. Sorry to ramble! How has your stomach stretched, and does it hurt? s it possible to stretch it out too much? I am ready to do this, want to be successful, and plan on playing by the rules. I am nervous about the first couple of weeks. thanks!

Hey there. Saw your post about negatives of gastric sleeve surgery. I am starting my research and would really welcome any leads on what I need to know - warts and all. Love this site, but want to be sure I see those that have not had a terrific experience also..

Ty, Erina for your kind words. You gave me some positive things to think about. Yes, i to am a deep thinker and have been called an over thinker. Thats not a bad thing I just have to re-think, the way I think it's people like you that help me to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I will probably seek out counseling as well. Thank you so much, and I am so glad you are adjusting well.

Hi this is Karla and I just want to touch on what you said....the setting was the big shocker for me. I was about to leave and go back home I thought I was at some back door of a club where they do unsafe things. I cried, I was alone and I so affraid. But after they talked with me and I prayed really hard I became a little more relaxed. Then when I has asked to walk down to the surgery room I then just said God it is in your hands. then next thing I knew I was in recovery. This will forever be a moment in my life that will stay with me forever. Good thing for me there were only two of us having the surgery that day so I stayed that the clinic the whole time and we each had our on room. But by Monday morning it was standing room only 15 were there for their surgery I was so glad I was on my way out.

PS the water thing just has me sad

    Thanks for listening

Hi... thanks for commenting on my post. I went to the emergency room because my chest was slightly painful and it wouldn't quit, plus I felt congested for a long time, and I thought if there was something wrong I would want to find out now so it would be less likely to interfere with my surgery. so glad I went. I'm still losing water weight. The doctor at the emergency room took and xray of my lung and saw all the fluids there and behind my heart. I am still taking a diuretic and potassium... I will be for quite some time. Also, the doc said that it's all the more important to get the surgery now.

Glad to hear your back home, and your surgery was successful. As far as the headache it could be from the pain meds and lake of rest. I am going to have Dr Mario almanza myself I have not set my surgery date yet pushing towards the first of the year. Over all how was the clinic ? And was it in statuary

Finally the weight is falling off again after 2 1/2 yrs.

by Erina on 04-09-2015 at 05:26 PM
I haven't been on this forum, too often lately. Life has gotten me sidetracked and down trodden. I originally had my surgery 2 1/2 yrs ago. The reasons for me were two fold. The most obvious one would be the desire to lose weight. The more hidden one was the desire to feel no more pain. You see I have fibromyalgia, and some kind of "undiagnosed auto-immune disorder." I had hoped that by losing the weight the pain would magically disappear. While I have lost 60 lbs. I stalled at the just

"Hungry for Change"

by Erina on 02-04-2013 at 05:37 PM
I am going to make a plug for a very informative documentary that I watched on Netflix last night. It is called "Hungry for Change". I highly recommend it to all sleevers. I have for a long time known that I needed to change my diet to nutrient rich foods. The main reason that I had this surgery done was because I have struggled with Fibromyalgia for 3 yrs and I knew that the number 1 recommended way that I could come across putting it into remission was with a diet healthy in raw

No Surgery, No Gimmick, Really?

by Erina on 01-23-2013 at 04:30 PM
So this topic I am going to talk about has got me all up in arms and kind of, well, pissed. On the cover of last weeks People Magazine it had people who have done the amazing feat of losing 100's of lbs. But People had to make a big deal, like they always do, of making sure everyone knows that it was without surgery, and without Gimmicks of any kind. Ok, so I buy the magazine and am reading the articles and realize so when did everyone decide that Nutri System, Optifast, Weight Watchers, P90X,

Did you notice 40 lbs gone?

by Erina on 01-04-2013 at 08:23 PM
So I wanted to post an observation that I have had this past couple of weeks. I am now down 40 lbs, which is such an amazing accomplishment for me thus far. I am in underland and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The thing that has got me thinking is that while I am so excited about my weightloss, it seems not many have noticed yet, and I have been thinking I must carry it real well. I will have people say things to me like "your face looks real pretty today" or "you

It's a Beautiful Day!

by Erina on 12-26-2012 at 08:44 PM
So I am officially now in Underland!!! I have maintained at 199 for almost a week without creeping back above again. I am so excited to be below the 200 mark. It has been over 10 years. I was listening to U2 (one of my favorites) and came across It's a Beautiful Day, and included some of the lyrics. Hopefully you enjoy this one like me.

The heart is a bloom, shoots up threw the stony ground,
there's no room, no space to rent in this town, your out of luck, and the reason
