Where have you been? how are you and your mom doing? I've not heard from you are you ok?
    I sure hope so.Belinda
  5. What instrument do you play? I play the radio and I have finally mastered the MP3! * proud look*
  6. Really. Get that doctor's note. Just in case. I have been reading in here, and I see where sometimes when a person eats something that doesn't agree with her, she has to get to the bathroom...FAST! It might be good to let your teachers know that you have the note and when you gotta go, you GOTTA GO!!! Hopefully, this will never happen to you, but it would not hurt to play it safe. Most teachers are pretty good, but some love to give kids hell about leaving the room.
  7. Wow! Drum Major!! You go, girl! I like your aspirations. Now, that you have put it in writing, you stand a very good chance of this happening.

As far as going to the restroom goes, you might want to see if you can get a note from your doctor so that you can go when you need to. If it is medically necessary, the school has to let you go. You seem like a nice girl who would not abuse this kind of pass.

My heart goes out to you about your father. I am so sorry that you had to see him go like he did. That is awfully hard. My ex-husband was a diabetic and he died because of it. It was awfully hard on my son to see his daddy go like that. He had heart attacks and many strokes. His kidneys shut down and he was on dialysis three times a week. He went completely blind. He lost a toe. His daddy spent the majority of the last three years of his life in the hospital.
He died two years ago. It was tough, real tough.

Anyway. I think we are going to do great, you, your mom, and me! It is hard to imagine how we are going to look this time next year! Hey, be sure to put your picture on here. I want to be able to see your progress.

I hope your Mom is having as good a day as possible. You too, sweetie!

  8. Wow, Desiree, I just read your profile! You are only ten days out from having your sleeve. I thought that maybe you had it done a lot earlier. How are you feeling? When does school start for you? Boy, oh boy! You are going to be the most amazing girl in school this year!!! Isn't it going to be fun to blow people's socks off with your weight loss? Hee-Hee!

I am a teacher and I am getting my sleeve this Friday. I cannot wait! School starts for me on August 20th. That's pre-planning. My students start a week later on August 27th.

I am in Jacksonville, Florida. I teach reading to kids with learning differences at a private school. My kids are middle and high school level. I think teenagers are the greatest!

I worry a little about adjusting to being back at school with my sleeve while I am new to this. I wonder about all that drinking I need to do, and how I can get breaks to run to the restroom. Teachers can't always jump up and leave the class! I worry about being tired, too.

This is probably all silly stuff to worry about. I am lucky because my principal loves me and supports me in my surgery. My kids all love me, too. They are going to have so much fun watching me shrink this year!

LOL! My yearbook photo taken in the fall won't even look like me when the yearbook comes out next spring! I LOVE it!!!

You take good care of your Mama, and take good care of yourself, too!

    Sincerely,

    Patty

I'm Back and lost some weight too :)

by DesireeAllana7 on 09-15-2012 at 11:27 PM
Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while since I been on. I have been really busy with marching band and school starting again. The good news is that.... I lost 50 lbs!!! I have now started my 6 weeks diet. Eating is ok but I can only eat a small amount. I have lost 2 sizes in pants and 1 size in my shirts. I am hoping by the end of this year to lose 70 lbs. I think that marching is really helping me. I go back to the doctor on October 4th, for a follow up. I hope he says I can start working out again.

Band Camp 30 lbs lighter

by DesireeAllana7 on 08-06-2012 at 11:11 PM
Today I started band camp again. Yay I get to march and that means excercise. I was so excited. Even though I start marching Thursday. When I walked in people noticed. The first thing people said were things like, "Wow Desiree you look AMAZING, Did you lose weight?" It felt so good to hear people's nice comments. It really did make me feel good. My band director from last year was very proud. I still can't believe I lost 30 lbs in 3 weeks. I am so ready to lose more. Besides that today,

Today

by DesireeAllana7 on 08-03-2012 at 03:34 PM
Today my mom is having her surgery. I am extremely proud of her. She has been with me through everything. It is good to know that we will be doing this together. When I went downstairs to the cafeteria, I realized something. If I would have been like my old self, I would be pigging out. Now that I had the gastric sleeve, I can now control myself. I had some great mashed potato soup. Without the lumps and bumps of course Thanks for reading
