Dawn I am doing well...I have been drinking protein shakes to get my 60 grams a day...My hair has not fell out yet I am super scared for that to happen....I have been taking biotin everyday to counter act the hair loss...I really hope it helps

Hello!!!!! How are you? I haven't been on here too much recently, because I forgot my password and it was kind of a hassle to figure out how to log in from my phone, etc...But I made it through the holidays without incident and have started 2013 out with a positive outlook that my life is back in control. Still struggle with trying to get enough protein in, without booster shakes....I get about 50 grams per day. You can probably tell from my new photo that I got the shorty haircut....which I love....but had to get because I've probably lost half of my head of hair! Good news is that I hear it grows back, so whew!

Hey Gorgeous! How the heck are you? Isn't it funny how two tablespoons of refried beans w/ cheese seems like A LOT? Ha ha ha.....I'm almost 9 weeks postop, and I can barely drink 56 oz of fluids and eat a little less than 1/2 cup of food at any meal. Good news is that I have kept everything down from the very beginning (no yacking) and I'm losing at least 2 pounds per week now. This is fantastic enough for me...as long as the scale never goes up again.

I am doing very well...um I am having no problem putting down liquids...I am now on soft and moist foods...today for lunch I had tuna with a little bit of minced garlic and honey mustard....I bought some 2oz cans of tuna...I can't finish a whole can yet.....I am shocked at how much I can drink though...The weight loss is not as rapid as expected but it is coming off. :-)

I found that drugging myself to sleep helped with any discomfort I had. Just make sure not to take too much pain meds, and make sure you sip, sip, sip during every waking 10 minute interval. I've been thinking a lot about you! I talked to Andrea today, and she is doing great (as am I). Now is YOUR time, my beautiful acquaintance! I hope I get to see you again!

My surgery went fine, I had time trying to keep liquids down but it seems to be getting better...my main discomfort right now gas. I can not find any relief is there any suggestions out there

Hey! I went in on Monday (7/30) and left on Weds (8/1), so only two nights in the hospital. I may have stayed another night "just to be safe", but they really do WAKE YOU UP every couple hours to do vitals and poke you. Try to walk as much as possible at the hospital, they give you the good stuff so you aren't in too much pain. When you get home, you won't have as much good stuff...so you won't walk as much as you did in the hospital (at first). I'm a little over a week out, and doing really well. My worst problem is acid reflux, and even on a scale from 1-10...I'd give it about a 5, so it is managable. Do you have your surgery date and surgeon yet, Marqkee77? I will be thinking of you, and I know you will do really well!
