    No worries amanda
  5. Hi Lynette
Yes I got your email about meeting up at Darling Harbour on the Saturday, how many do you think will come?
I finally weighed myself again as I have no scales and have a phobia about scales and appears lost 4 kgs, so slowly, slowly getting there!
Still having trouble or maybe just don't like the taste of it, but both chicken and meat not keen. Appears too dry or difficult to chew. However, there are plenty of options, also gone off spicy, chilli flavours - don't know why, used to love all that. But, still enjoy Asian food, as you can order little things like with yum cha. And it is tasty or at least I can easily pick at something when sharing Chinese or Malaysian with the family.
Okay hope all is good with you? xx

I emailed you just not sure if it got through as I sent it from my iPad xx
  7. Sorry didn't reply earlier, as not been on this site and have just seen your message after I had already written to you.
Can't seem to eat much, still having a shake each day, I enjoy the coffee one. Don't like the taste of alcohol, I should say wine- only tried a little as conscious of the calories, but did finish and enjoy a vodka and tonic. Eating a lot more seafood than ever, as I find meat too much to chew and get down. Chicken abit similar. I enjoy the one egg scrambled occasionally and maybe a half toast, if I can finish it. But, loving the new me. Seem to be in between a Size 14 and 12. Can't quite get into a Target 12, except for some tops, but not bottoms. So the 14 is just abit loose.
Noticed my wedding ring is sliding abit and my watch loose.
All in all, loving the comments from people who can notice a difference now - I sound so vain!!!
Really looking forward to our day together, I feel like we are a family with our sleeves.
    Take care. Love Amanda

    Hi Amanda

Glad you worked out what was causing your eating issues, I haven't tried chicken or meat as yet but then again I wasn't a big meater pre sleeve just the occasional roast or steak. I too love seafood so basically that's my main staple in my diet I've added things like four bean salad and veg just to balance out my diet. Fruit I have days when I don't have an issue and other days when it doesn't go down too well. All in all I pretty much can eat normally haven't had no major issue with anything so it all good. Wow ur under 90k you must be feeling great as for the school holz they have been good I've bin doing lots of walking with my daughter got blisters today though went for a huge walk yesterday went from city to darling harbour then around to Walsh bay, the rocks and the quay. Got home and took my boots off n my socks were bloody so don't think I will be moving off my butt today lol. It's good having company might take her to national park during the week n do a bush walk and a swim. Neways catch up with u soon take care xx

    Hi Amanda

Wow ur so lucky hope ur relaxing n ur both enjoying the break away...oh by the way HAPPY ANNIVERSARY , your weights coming off nicely n u will be in the 80's in no time. I've lost 7 kg since surgery last week so with my pre-op diet added I've lost my first 20k yay 41 to go boooooo lol. I've bin having weetbix, porridge, custard or yoghurt for breakfast. Woolworths fresh soup for lunch and depending on how I feel might have soup again or another yoghurt or baked beans with a tsp sour cream and a sprinkle of grated cheese. I have three cups of tea and put unflavored protein into that and sometimes in the yoghurt or custard. I've been getting in 60-80 g of protein daily so it seems to work that was Donnas tip. Well enjoy ur last few days and you should no better our kids never leave home even wen u get them out the door they always find their way home.
  13. Hi Lynette
Came to Bali on Sunday, will be home on Sunday morning, just in time to help my son move back home- we thought we had got rid of them for good!
I work for an airline - Qantas, so can travel cheaply at short notice. It was our 29th Wedding Anniversary on Monday, so decided to come away.
Lost 11 kgs so far, next goal to get under 90 kgs! But going well, finding I am filling up quite quickly, so hardly eating much, just soup and shakes and today I had a skim milk cappuccino in a take away cup and found I could sip away happily and I enjoyed it. Peter had an omelette this morning and I had 2 fork fulls.
So I am a very cheap date! Plus a small piece of banana and papaya.
Tell me your news. Are you still being wonder woman and coasting along?
My bruising has all gone and the scars look great, how are yours?
    So far loving the Sleeve!

Onederland!!!

by Amanda K on 09-09-2012 at 07:34 AM
Today came in at 196lbs = 89kgs! I had a huge smile on my face when I got off the scale.
Wearing clothes that haven't seen daylight for nearly 2 yrs. And even they feel slightly loose. Isn't it a great feeling!
I am 4.5 weeks post surgery and my next goal is to get under 85 kgs. Trying to aim for a 1kg a week. Which is 2.2lbs.
Thank you everyone for your inspirational advice, stories and help.

My story Week 2, post-op!

by Amanda K on 08-21-2012 at 06:18 AM
had my 2 week follow up with the surgeon, dietician and Bariatric nurse today. Have lost 8 kgs about 16 pounds. So I was pleased with that. My measurements were taken and the cms are coming off as well. Very encouraging and gives you an incentive.
They were all very pleased with my progress, my incisions are looking great and the one bruising I did get is now nearly faded.
My doctor said normally you will lose 1 kilo a week, about 2.2 pounds.
I am going for brisk 45 min

by Amanda K on 08-10-2012 at 04:36 PM
Hi everyone
3 days post op and looking forward to going home today!!!
All went well but also had to have a hiernia repair, so took abit longer. But I had a lovely looking liver - thought you would all like to know that.
Isn't that gas pain the pits!! Still have a little in the left shoulder but walking does help and drugs as well!
Had some jello and custard, but can't live on that forever. How does everyone manage to get all their fluids in? It's like a full time job

Time To Say Goodbye To My Tummy

by Amanda K on 08-07-2012 at 02:50 AM
It's 5.30pm in Sydney at the moment on 7 August.
Well tomorrow at 7am I have to be at the hospital for Sleeve day. Just packed the bag, went to the hairdresser today - I look gorgeous of course. LOL!

Thank you to everyone for these Blogs and Forums, great advice and support no matter where we are in the world.

Have no idea if I have lost pre op, as I don't own a scale and I refuse to have one in the house! I like to just go by my clothes.

Well
