Pre-OP Surgery Stinks!

I'm starved! 14 days seems wayyy too much to be on the completely liquid diet pre-surgery. Here is my diet: 4 Optifast shakes, 1 Optifast bar and 1 Optifast soup a day. I've been on it for 7 days and I have to admit, I have cheated. I've eaten carrots and broccoli. As well as 5 or 6 meatballs my wife made, LOL.
Has anyone else been on the pre-op diet for 14 days? Did your DR tell you that you could eat other foods other than Optifast? I've seen posts where other people get
