I saw my Dr. today and we decided Sept. 10th we are going to remove my lap-band. 2 1/2 years ago I got it put in and lost 75 lbs. well after a year and a half, it slipped. Went in for a revision and it never worked the same. Lost no weight. After we take the band out, we are going to wait 3 mo's and then do sleeve, if everything is o.k. with the stomach. He told me that there is more risk to the surgery since I have had the band, and that the weight loss is a little less since the sleeve was not
I am wanting to know which was worse with pain and being laid up after. Having the band taken out or having the sleeve done. I am pretty sure I am going to go with Dr. David Treen who takes the band out, and waits 3 months to do the sleeve. Didn't want to have 2 more surgeries, but if that is the best way I will do it.
I am wanting to know was anyone banded and then switched from band to sleeve on the same surgery day? Or did it have to be 2 separate surgeries. One surgeon is telling me it can be done all together and the other is saying we take the band out, then wait three months the do sleeve. Help!!!!
