You sound busy but hope you will make time to exercise because I know it makes a difference in our recover and life changes. I have to do it to strengthen my bad knees and make my heart healthy. I was going to the local pool 5x a week by 6 am. You will find there are a lot of regular retirees there and a social community. My is keeping in touch by email while I wait to return to the pool. There is one woman who had a RnY a few yrs ago and she is routing for me and giving suggestions. One older lady who prays for me. Others there just concerned. A grandchild, how great and fun! I am not rushing my daughter but I look fwd to having grandkids! She is only 25 and single, so am not pushing it! LOL Will be in touch.

Hi TL, thanks for the note. Glad you loved Vancouver, I don't! LOL Too big, dirty and expensive. I might go there once every 3-4 yrs and do a little shopping or if travelling but avoid it like the plague otherwise. I am on wk 5 from surgery so still can't eat a whole lot. I seem to be at half a cup or so. Last night was the first time I threw up. It was with flakes of chicken. I seem to burp a lot when I am getting full. It is so hard to "feel" it otherwise. I look forward to being under 300 lbs as it has been over 6 yrs since I was there. I do notice not having hunger or cravings. I can see something I would have eaten 6 of, like butter tarts & just say oh those look nice, walk away w/o feeling deprived. My life is changing too. I can bend more than before, the screaming arthritic pain in my knees has died down to a once-in-awhile whimper.
I have a hard time planning eating but do try to get my protein shake in first thing (it is 25g). Getting enough water in is problematic too. I wish to be back in the pool to do my walking as land walking is hard on my knees. I have two more weeks. sigh. but am going to gym for next few weeks to do treadmill. I have been pretty tired for the past month. I did feel a spurt of energy the day after I got home from surgery but that was short lived! Looking fwd to more energy soon.
    Chat soon!

Thank you so much for wonderful words of encouragement. I am so very happy for you and off 6 meds!!!! how wonderful. These words came at the right time. Of course, God is always on time. I have been getting more scared by the moment. We have finished all of our classes Just had preop blood test. We need final visit with surgeon (he is oot till 8th) then goes to insurance co and date gets set. I so hope it was by 19th so I could recover in time for our cruise Dec 7th. How is that new granddaughter. I know you could just eat her up.. That is how I felt when mine was born. Take care and thank you again.

Tube in nose

by TexasLady on 07-25-2012 at 12:05 PM
[FONTIf your doctor is one who likes use a nose tube, consider yourself lucky. I was really dreading that tube. I have a very small nose path and was afraid it would be hard for them to get it in place. But wouldn't you know they make all size tubes. LOL! Afterwards I was so glad I had it. I never felt any discomfort from it, and it kept me from experiencing all the gas pain that most people suffer from. I had no gas pain whatsoever.

22 Days Since surgery: Cold turkey on reg. meds: Morphine Drug Reaction

by TexasLady on 07-25-2012 at 11:15 AM
Hi everyone, I know my "friends" have been wondering what happened to me. Things did not go so well for me after surgery. My surgery went fine, but my experience at Baylor Plano can be best described as "I've been to hell and back by way of the twilight zone". *I won't even go into the non-existing healthcare, but I had a very bad drug reaction to the morphine. I honestly thought I was going to die. Plus, I had no idea that I would not have any of my medications during my stay

Its been a tough road - Surgery in 7 hours - Helpful tips for Eating!

by TexasLady on 07-03-2012 at 01:47 AM
[QUOTE]I want to thank everyone for all their encouragement and support for me not to give up and to continue with my surgery date of July 3, after the death of my mother.

It was a very difficult week planning a funeral and getting my pre-opt tests done, going through registration (which was a nightmare because of so many mistakes made at the hospital) and my pre-opt doctors appointment. It was difficult, but I stayed focused and God walked very close to me, giving me strength

Too many decisions - death in family - advice please

by TexasLady on 06-25-2012 at 02:01 AM
Hi everyone. I joined this forum early June with a surgery date of June 20. I was not comfortable with my doctor so I changed to Dr. Stephen Hamn. They first gave me a surgery date of June 28, but later called me back saying the new girl had made a mistake. Now my surgery date is July 3. So, what's the problem you ask. My mom went to be with the Lord Sunday morning. I received the call at 4:42 A.M. Now I don't know what to do. I was so mentally ready for my surgery, but now I have more important

Changed Doctors - Now I'm waiting for a new surgery date

by TexasLady on 06-19-2012 at 01:29 AM
I am so anxious to get sleeved, and this website is a great informational source. I started out with Dr. Nick in Dallas, but our personalities didn't jive. Maybe it was because I was just beginning this journey and had a lot of questions that Dr. Nick didn't have time nor interest to answer. Plus, I didn't get the support from my advocate there. I had a surgery date of June 20. Now, I'm having my surgery with Dr. Stephen Hamn in Plano. I have met with him and he had no problem spending time
