Hi we were sleeved the same day, just wondering does your weight loss include pre op diet or is it since surgery ? xx
  3. Ideal protein is god as long as you only use water with protein shakes. I used herbal tea, crystal lite and watered down fruit juice. I was on a liquid diet for 10 days and it was good. My staff made me chicken and beef broth and that was good.

    Hi its me again,
18 days away and I want to start on the liver shrinking diet as I am pretty hefty compared to some, besides that any weight I can drop will be good.
I was wondering if you thought the Ideal protein shakes would be acceptable to use for the protein supplement?

    Thanks

  5. I'm doing really well. I am back to working 12 hour days and I work 21 on and 7 off no problem. I am single and did not have anyone. You really don't need any help after you leave the recovery house. It is better to go alone as you stay in the recovery house and have nurse 24-7. Otherwise you have to go to the hotel and then you have to travel to get your meds etc. I am looking into applying to get money back from Alberta health care. As I am working in fort mac I will apply when I get home next week. Let me know f you have any other questions or concerns.

    Hi
    How have you been?
Good here, but slowly getting anxious for the big day.
Do you have a partner at home to help you through this? I do and she is not seeming all that excited about this surgery.
Anyways, I am here for your Alberta support.
  7. I decided to have surgery on June 5th ans sent my deposit for July 21st. I flew in to San Diego on Friday, stayed at the Best Western on 555 Ash Avenue. I went to the jet blue at the airport for 9am. A van picked us up. We drove to the clinic. We had blood work, heart test and they asked us lost of questions. I had my surgery around 2pm. I slept a little after surgery. I walked after surgery quite a bit. Stayed in the hospital for a night. We went to the recovery house and stayed there for three days. I think it is best to go alone as you can stay at the recovery house. They have nurses who wait on you 24-7. If you bring a guest you have to stay at the hotel. The service is 100% better in the recovery house. As I spoke to three girls who stayed at the hotel. I had surgery on the 21st and I was back at work on the 31st. I removed my own stitches on 10 days post op. I feel great. I have lost 20 pounds so far. So I have been sleeping throughout the night. It has been less than 2 weeks and I am eating pureed food a couple tablespoons at a time. There is one incision under my bra strap that stays moist. Now I am using a little piece of goss and it is healing quite well now. The rest of my incisions are looking good only a little bruising. I have had no complications and I have no regrets. You have to take all your medications and follow the doctors instructions and you will be fine. Dr.Almanza had the surgery as well and lost 85 pounds.

Hi...I noticed you are a fellow Albertan.
How long did it take you to arrange your surgery with Dr Almanza?
I guess I mean from the time you first thought of the surgery til the actual surgery date?
How are things going after the fact?
Any complications or regrets after the fact?

Congrats and keep up the good work!

  9. Mine was originally scheduled for the 20th, then I had it changed to the 14th, then they offered me the 11th. I swear, no more changing. I was worried, because I am going to MN the 2nd week of August and wanted to make sure that I was sufficiently healed for the trip. It is all so exciting, don't you think, and the fact that we are going to Mexico to do it makes even more of an adventure. Good luck to us both!
