Hi! Things are going great. This was the best thing i could ever have done. Its been hard to get alot of protein in but im tryin. When im released to do more exercising, I want to check with a local gym and get a family membership there. My kids really want to stay fit and it cant hurt. Since i've had the surgery done, I have a few other family members asking about it and interested in doing it. I let them know everyone's experience is different and learn as much as you can. And I tell them about this site and how useful it is. Take care

I'm on full liquids now. So working on protein. The first day in the hospital i was aloud to drink anything at all. They gave me the sponge thing to wet my mouth. At 8 am, the next day i went into xray to check for any leaks and after they showed no leaks i was aloud clear liquids. Day 2 and day 3 were hard for me to sip stuff cause i would get bad gas pains with each sip. Yesterday was better. I could drink more amounts before i would get gas pains. Now today, I have no gas pains. Just the occasional burp or two. I just drank some unjury chicken soup/broth protein shake. It really tastes good. I only have a couple sample packs but I know i wanna by the big container next. I'm very glad i did this. Good luck Joe

HI! Good to hear you are doing well. I got home yesterday evening. The only time i took stuff for pain was monday also. I was lucky and didnt feel to much nausea. The pain wasnt have has bad as i was expecting. The real pain is from gas and when i'm up moving around my abdonmen is a little sore but very tolerable. I'm not suppose to start on the protein till next week. I just took a chewable vitamin and it was like a meal lol. *Cheers* to finally making it to the "other side."

Hi Shelly, good luck tomorrow. I gotta be at St. Vincent at 6 am and surgery is at 8. Was hoping for this time slot. I'll try to post when i can. I'm not bringing my laptop but i will have my phone so I'll try to post when i can. Depends on how I feel and how long i will be in there, I might have someone bring me my laptop later. I'm very excited and anxious to do this. It's hard to believe it's actually gonna happen. I've been wanting this for 10 yrs now lol. Good luck and you'll be in my prayers. Can't wait to compare experiences.

Starting Over

by shelleyssweets on 07-29-2014 at 01:46 AM
What a difference a year can make.

I have totally gotten away from diet and exercise....resulting in gaining back quite a bit of the weight I lost in my first year after sleeve surgery. I wont waste anyones time by blaming it on anything except laziness on my part.

Surgery was Aug 12, 2012. I lost 105 pounds that first year.
June 8, 2013 my whole world changed. My husband and I separated, I closed my business and moved to Ohio.
Since then, most everything

8 weeks Post Op

by shelleyssweets on 10-08-2012 at 01:20 PM
Feeling fantastic!!!! I can't believe it's been 8 weeks already. Where has the past 2 months went?
I had my first post op appointment with my surgeon today. He was pleased with my progress. I dont see him again until January...so that's a good thing.
I have added taebo and hula hooping to my exercise routine. I am also looking into belly dance. Just trying to keep a good variety of exercises to hit all of my body.
Most foods dont give me trouble as long as I eat slowly and

What a difference 3 weeks can make!!!

Well, it seems as I have stalled on the weight loss. I have been stuck at 300# for a week, but the inches are still coming off. I know I should be happy about that....but I wonder if I should be doing more. I will probably always second guess myself. I am sticking mainly to either chipped turkey breast, tuna and protein shakes for my protein. The last few days I have noticed Im not getting as much fluids down. I always feel like im having to put something in my mouth all the dang time....either

I am my own "Food Network" star!

by shelleyssweets on 09-01-2012 at 05:07 PM
I have decided I don't want to view food as the enemy. Instead....It has become my own challenge. have you ever watched the Food network and seen some of the shows where they have to do a "one bite" challenge? Thats me with meals right now....but with 2-3 bites. I am a Pastry Chef but have decided to switch gears and learn more about savory foods. I am figuring out how to take components from the meals I cook for my family....and turn them into a flavorful and healthy meal for myself.
