Hope it all works out as long as the Doc's give the ok. I understand the cajun culture too. Yummy food and my husband and I love to cook together. So we both get fluffy together. I'm almost two months after surgery and some cooking has changed. He is trying to lose weight too so he is very helpful... but we are taking a bunch of the cajun traditions and just kind of de-carbing (don't think that's a real word) them. Also check out the world according to EGGFACE she has some really good new recepies you may not have thought of. Best wishes on your upcoming journey!!!

just came back from the first consultation. they measured my body, checked my heart, did blood test, did a walking test, checked my blood pressure...my blood pressure was great! i did awesome on the walk test.. they asked me to fill out questionnaires the whole time while i was doing this. so far so good. they gave me this smoothie product that i have to drink for 2 weeks for a liquid diet that is mandatory before my next screening process which is the psychological test as well as getting a full body physical, chest xray and what not. im feeling pretty positive so far. THey have 15 specialist surgeons from all over the state who review my case and see which surgery would best suit me. If they feel for ANY reason no matter how small that this is not right for me or that i will be at risk they will eliminate me from the pool. So cross your fingers n pray for me.. your support means the world to me.

Hey Sharon...so my consult was painless. They took my vitals, weight and went over my medical history. The surgeon said I should be weighing about 100 lbs. I will be happy at 130 though, a girl's gotta have curves ya know lol. I got my surgery date, they offered me June 12, but June is a busy busy month for me, so I took July 11. Very excited. I lost my mom at age 62. She would have been my biggest supporter of this surgery, but at least now I know she'll be keeping an eye on me in the operating room!! Let us know how your consult goes!! Good luck to you!!

Okay I'd be happy to talk to you about it but not every one on my Facebook knows I had surgery! My inlaws tried talking my out of it when I was thinking about it. :/ anyway if you want to talk to be about the surgery please do it in a private message k! I know I'm complicated!

Thank you so much! I had my sleeve done on January 25th of this year and so far I lost 89lbs. I follow all my guidelines from my surgeon and nutritionist and I work my ass off at the gym at least 4 days a week!! I learned that group classes work best for me because no one wants to walk out of a class when every one else is still working out, haha! I had a great experience with my surgery. They only pain I had was in my shoulders, from the gas after the 2nd day it was gone! LOL I could ramble on for days about how much I love my sleeve but if you want to know anything ask away

I just read your "about me" section...so sad about all your losses, due to obesity. My bro in law also passed at 30, he was severly obese, and had a pacemaker put in about a year previous to his death. My husband at first gained a ton of weight, I believe due to depression, but has since became healthy losing about 50 lbs. he works out and eats right, and encourages me & our 4 kids too also, but I needed something more extreme. I have done all my requirements that my ins requires and I have my surgery consult May 9th. Good luck on your journey...xo
