Don't Like Being a Bummer

by terbear1967 on 06-13-2012 at 09:49 AM
Oy vey. I don't like feeling this way and I certainly do NOT want to dampen anyone's else's day, but man, I am feeling blue. I had my surgery on May 21st and at my 2-week post-op check-in I had lost 19 lbs. Fantastic, right? Well, since then, when I've weighed myself, I don't really see much of a difference. I have a tendency in the past to sabotage myself, or totally believe that I'm going to fail, because I had at every other attempt to lose weight. I'm probably not eating enough, drinking

How The Sleeve Was Won

by terbear1967 on 06-05-2012 at 07:30 PM
What a day!!!!! I had my two-week appointment and upon weighing in, I have lost 19 pounds! I am elated!!! I couldn't be happier with my food choices too! Surgery was on Monday, the 21st. Mostly I am in bed resting/sleeping, so when I am at the computer, it is to just read what's been going on and back to bed for me. I'm just thankful that I can now type as fast as I could before the operation. Wow, that thing kicked my butt! I was not prepared for that! Maybe I just heard what I wanted to hear, or maybe I misunderstood, but I thought for sure I would be up and at 'em within 2-4 days. NOT. ha ha Apparently, this is what is supposed to happen, so

Pre-Op Meeting with Dr. Clark

by terbear1967 on 05-15-2012 at 07:51 PM
Meeting went well, I think. One of the first things I told Dr. Clark was that I was afraid of dying. He came back with "I am too." It made me laugh. I am incredibly nervous about "going under." I feel like I'm not going to wake up. I'm scared I'm not going to succeed with this operation because all of the other means of "dieting" have not worked. They cause me to gain the weight back and then gain on top of that. I also have a few things against me, medications
