Wow- you're sticking to the liquid phase! Good on you. I thought they were going to do that to me for the whole week I was in hospital, but they started giving me custart and jelly by the second day. I was a little surprised. At first, it took almost 24 hours to eat one, tiny jelly! I
I am now having mushy foods still but have stopped blending the protein and am eating well-softened meats (in sauce) that I eat in tiny little flecks and then chew like mad..hahaha. I still can't fit much in. Some days are better than others. There are more good days than bad moments, thank goodness.

Hey Moses44! How's the recovery going? I'm six days post-op and doing okay. I'm still not eating much but am starting to get some appetite so need to prepare some better mushy foods. It's so much harder to get protein to be mushy enough. It's easier to eat a jelly or custard but I know that won't give me protein.
How are you going with food?

Oh yes, that pain is from your lungs and chest, from all the gas. Do your breathing exercises so you can re-open your lungs and get them breathing for you 100%. Walk as much as you can to speed up getting rid of the gas. I remember I was scared to laugh or cough or sneeze too! I got a lot of back rubs while i was walking. Water used to give me nausea at first. Then all went smoothly. How's the drain tube? Worst enemy ever! Well, when I got my surgery i weighed 212 and as of yesterday I weigh 191. I'm really happy. I will loose the weight slowly but surely. We are brave Moses, we are brave. At first, when i decided to get my surgery, people would criticize me and say I was lazy and taking the easy way out. After I went through the surgery, i was like, " those people are stupid, there's nothing easy about this procedure. It takes a lot of money, commitment, patience, courage, strenght, and discipline." There's nothing easy about under-going the knife. Anyone can go to Zumba or to the gym, but it's really hard to exercise when you have sleep apnea or joint pains due to our weight. We need to loose the weight first before we can exercise and develop endurance or good cardio. Ja-ja. Sorry, I went on and on. To answer your question, I'm fine and happy with my decision.
