I am doing well! Just took a one-month photo, and am FLOORED.
As for your pain, where is it located? You might check with the doc and see if they want an image study of that area. I had a weird pain in my left side that got worse after me running to the tornado shelter last Sunday. Turns out, my hematoma is STILL there, just slowly getting smaller. Also, my friend J that had surgery a week before me had a weird pain, and it turned out to be a hematoma on her diaphragm.

:( Didn't realize this extra emotional thing would hit me so soon

by ettegdirb on 05-11-2013 at 10:24 AM
I just had my surgery on Monday. I've lost 19 lbs including the pre-op diet... yay for that!

I've been home alone for 3 days now while my boyfriend is at work. I don't know why, but today I have just felt extra lonely. I NEVER have a Saturday off work, and now that I do, it's kind of horrible :-/

My boyfriend is using my car to go to work. I'm not supposed to be driving anyway, so oh well. He also has my debit card (both of our direct deposits go into it) and I don't

Day 3 post op.

by ettegdirb on 05-09-2013 at 07:06 AM
I am feeling better every day. I still get random sensations and feelings, and I know they're probably normal, I just get paranoid.

I just took my pain medicine so all I feel like is writing different sentences of what's been going on.

As prepared as I (thought I) was, it is still very difficult to get fluids down. I physically can't take normal size slurps.

Liquid hydrocodone is the WORST...

Walmart is out of GasX strips, so I got beano

Time is just dragging.

by ettegdirb on 04-29-2013 at 04:00 PM
By this time in exactly one week, I will be sleeved finally! I just got back from my pre-op visit. 2 1/2 hours of pure fun. I got blood drawn, an EKG, X-rays, weighed twice, and my blood pressure taken. I also had to give a urine sample. I hate doing that.

When I spoke with my surgeon, I talked with him about my disability from work, and it sounded like he was going to put me out for about 2 weeks. Yuck. I would rather take 4. Ha! We will just see.

BUT, my favorite

Day 4 of the PreOp diet.. Day 2 of quitting smoking. Am I crazy?

by ettegdirb on 04-25-2013 at 10:06 PM
So, today is the 4th day. I have been HUNGRY.. and the protein shakes are beginning to take their toll. I really don't like broth, and I HATE jello, so those aren't really in my equation. I haven't found any SF popcicles that I'm willing to buy, because I'm not a popcicle person either. I have cheated every day so far. I know it isn't okay, and I'm not saying it is. I am proud of myself in the fact that they haven't been terrible cheats. Tuna in water, a hard boiled egg, SF/Fat free pudding, and

Pre-op diet starting tomorrow... so let me just ramble on about it.

by ettegdirb on 04-21-2013 at 08:48 PM
To be honest, I haven't really done the whole "last meal syndrome" thing I was worried about. I'm almost relieved that for the next two weeks, I know exactly what I'll be eating. I did go out to one of my favorite restaurants last night, but that was for a friend's birthday party. It was a Mongolian grill so I could pretty much pick exactly what I wanted in my dish. I made pretty good choices, maybe too many noodles, but mostly vegetables and some chicken. I over-stuffed myself and felt
